Live in desert so thought maximum moisturizer would be best, but husband comments "old lady smell" everytime I use. Like the Alba regular moisturizer that's unscented, and the Shade 15 is great also. Will use product when he's not around, absorbs well.

I had used this product for years and loved the fresh scent and ease in applying. All that has changed with the new formulation. The new formulation smell is offensive and gives me a head ache. It also is too thick now and doesn't go on as easily. I called the company thinking I had gotten some bad bottles -- no such luck. They have ruined their good product.

i thought this lotion would be richer b/c of the name. the lotion is thin and doesn't moisturize that well.

I keep coming back to this lotion because it is the only brand I've tried that keeps my dry sensitive skin from becoming irritated and bumpy in the winter. Plus, it is fast-absorbing and has no perfume to irritate me or interfere with other scents I might wear. While it's pricey, it's also free of harsh chemicals and animal testing and I find it just makes my skin look and feel better than anything else I've tried--including tons of drugstore brands.

Waaaay too watery of a consistency to be an effective "maximum dry skin formula". While it doesn't cause a reaction on my fairly sensitive skin, it does nothing to help any dry spots that I already have. I was really disappointed. It doesn't rub in well either. Realistically, I could only see this lotion being good for those who live in a warm, humid climate with no skin issues(ie: perfect skin!) In other words, the product only does what it says for a small percentage of people. By the way, I am a 25 yr old, natural product junkie who drinks 10 glasses of water a day.... so it's not like I have terrible skin to combat.

Alba Botanica Very Emollient Body Lotion, Maximum Dry Skin Formula is made for people with average skin types. If you have dry, sensitive skin or eczema, you'll find this lotion to not be very effective. The botanical flowery smell is overpowering and the lotion is on the runny side for a "maximum dry skin formula" product. I have senstive skin and eczema and this product makes me break out in little red bumps.
