First need we had was of course a nightmare experience. With a tool such as this it needs to be easy to use out of the box. With LOTS of training and practice it MIGHT be a great item to have, but when your kid wakes up on fire with fever you don't have time to train or hope you are doing it correctly. We never did feel like (after 3 days of using it in duality with the braun ear thermo) we had a good "feel" for how to use it. We are sticking with the Braun ear for the kids. Also, when the kids are sticky with sweat from a fever it is hard to use.

I am an RN, and first used this in the hospital where I work. With proper technique, this is a very accurate thermometer. It must be used according to directions. I bought one for children at home, and have not been disappointed in the accuracy of this wonderful tool.

I purchased this product after seeing one used at my local hospital. The one sold here gives a different reading everytime you use it. I couldn't wait for it to arrive, when it did I wanted to send it right back. It's a toy and should not be purchased if you're looking for the most reliable temperature reading.

I used to use an ear thermometer, but I got tired of running out of probe covers -- plus it hurt a lot when my kids had ear infections. The forehead thermometer is much easier to use. In fact, our pediatrician's office uses this product, so it's probably more accurate, too.

Arrived the day my toddler bacame ill. Looks exactly like the one used at Childrens Hospital. Was very pleased with temperature reading compared to our other themometer which allows 3 different ways to take temp. Checked my own the day I went to see my PCP and it was the same temp. I would recommend especially for infants and chidren.

This thermometer is amazing! Very easy to use. I haven't had any problems with getting an accurate reading. I have two young children, so this gets a lot of use. Since it's non invasive and only takes a second, they don't mind it, and I've even used it on them while they were sleeping.

This thermometer is a lifesaver! My 18 month old son scared us with a febrile seizure in the middle of the night, and I purchased this thermometer right after. Now, when he goes to sleep with a fever, I can check his temperature several times without disturbing him. This gives me piece of mind. I did have some temperature discrepancies when I was first getting the hang of it, but now I have no problems with it. A true must have for parents of toddlers!

Very inaccurate thermometer, even when used exactly as the directions say. I began to disbelieve it when it said my son had a 106 fever once. I've pretty much stopped using it. Buy a good Braun ear thermometer
