I use this product as a morning and night cleanser and then as a mask about 2x a week. I find that it smells amazing. The product really did minimize my pores and dry out persisting acne id had, but becareful not to leave it on your face excessively. I like to take small amounts and put them on pimples overnight so that they dry out. Awesome product.

I use it in the moring or every other morning depends how my skin feels. People using this has to be careful. It does dry out skin if use too often and if your skin can't tolerate it. Just use your instinct...it depends on the weather and where you live. It is a great product for blackheads and whiteheads and adult acne, but you must adjust to how often you use it based on your need. More is not better sometimes...give your skin time to heal and don't over do it with this. I haven't used as a mask yet since it has been effective as a cleaner. I think great as a mask in Summer. Don't forget to moisturizes afterward!

I searched all over drugstore.com for a treatment for my recent acne flare-up. I was breaking out for some reason on my nose only, which isnt exactly pleasant looking. My nose was sore and covered in many red, inflamed spots, with new ones popping up each day. I started using this 3 days ago just as the facewash - I used it at night the first two nights, then as a mask in the shower on the 3rd morning. I am VERY impressed with how quickly this went to work clearing up the blemishes on my nose. The new ones forming have since nearly vanished, and the bigger red blemishes are drying up and are greatly reduced. On top of that, it cleared up a few other blemishes on my face that had been lingering for a good week prior to using this with no improvement. In only 3 days it cleared up sooo much and I am so thankful. I should note that I've used benzoyl peroxide in the past, but at a 2.5% solution, so my skin was relatively used to it and did not burn. Start slow if you are new to BP, and careful rinsing your face because the splashing water will get the BP on your clothing and can bleach, although I havent found this to be a major problem if you are just careful. I am typically a budget buyer, however I bought this brand because it is supposed to be #1 dermatologist recommended so I thought it would be worth it. I used the product as a mask, and before the 5 minutes was even up I felt it burning and rinsed it off. I was then left with a red, painful, hot to the touch burn on my face for several hours despite taking benadryl and putting cold compresses on it. To make matters worse it was a holiday weekend [...] I was extremely let down in Neutrogena. I wouldn't recommend this product to anyone, and if you do buy it, exercise caution with it, don't leave it on for too long.

Benzoyl Peroxide is a "harsher" acne treatment so it does cause slight redness after use as an intensive mask - even on darker skin tones. I use this mask at night only due to the increased sun sensitivity. The product does deep clean and pull the extra oils to the surface of the skin. it is worth the money.

I've used alot of products for blackheads and acne, but I noticed this one was one of the most effective. In others I have used, they tended to make my skin either dry or oily. After only one use I noticed my pores had been greatly minimized and my skin felt great. The great thing about this is after removing it from my skin, my skin doesnt feel irritated or itchy. The after effects are great as well because my skin doesnt feel dry or oily it feels great and smooth. If your looking for something to kill your blackheads more effectively, buy this instead of the Neutrogena Blackhead Eliminating Scrub, Clear Pore is more effective.

I really like this product and use it as a mask 2-3 times a week. I've found that using cocoa butter afterward helps keep my skin hydrated since most soaps and facial cleansers dry my skin. It feels great on my face and I especially like using it during my period since I tend to break out more often during that time of the month.

Best kept secret out there -- leave it on overnight for as many nights as needed -- let it dry before you go to bed or it will rub off onto your sheets (it's washable though!). Anyway apply it wherever you have zits or feel one coming and wash it off the next morning and you will see immediate improvement. I am 41 and have great skin except for occasional hormonal breakouts on my decolette and back which are so annoying and embarrassing. Using toner helps too but the best solution for me, even better than expensive brands (and my husband is a cosmetic doctor so I have access to the best) is keeping it on longer than prescribed. I tell everyone about it. Best solution I have ever found no matter what the price. Try it, what do you have to lose? If you have very severe/stubborn zits try it overnight for a week and you will have guaranteed improvement!

The first time I used this product as a mask, I was amazed. It was a miracle. Not only did it shrink the size of my zits, but it minimized my pores and did everything I'd been trying to do with my other products in much shorter time. I excitedly used it again the next week [as a mask, never as a cleanser], but I must have left it on too long because I was left with a pink, sunburnt-looking face for the next few hours. It took a whole day for the redness to fade. I tried it again other times, but it was ineffective. I don't understand how it can be so great the first time, then useless later on. Other then that, it smells nice and does a fine job of removing excess oil.
