We used this product just about every night to deter SIDS and keep out newborn's cold at bay. I cleaned it weekly with vinegar, as suggested, and still have a buildup of pink mold all over the filter. I am surprised to see it touted here as 'never needing replacement'. I actually came on this site to find a replacement filter! I can't seem to get the pink mold off. I guess using distilled water can help. Overall, if you want a humidifier to last, you have to suck it up and buy ones that have replaceable cartridges.

This unit gets a bad build-up of salt all around the motor and on the intake vents. The main part of the machine must be emptied twice per week to keep the salt in check. The valve on the reservoir started out OK, then leaked badly for a while, then got better (?). It only holds 1 gallon of water, so it must be filled twice per day when used on 'high'. The metal wicks are nice, the blue light is cool...but everything else is a pain.

A little on the noisy side at night, because the motor seems to cycle.... gets noisier at certina times than others. So we have it on for an hour or so nefore we go to bed with the door closed and turn it off before we go to sleep. I don't think any other humidifier would be a lot better. Does the job.

Initially, I really like this machine even though it always made some noise. The water chamber is difficult to clean and taking the machine apart and putting it back togeather was difficult as well. I have had the machine for just under 2 years and threw it away as it stopped working.

I like it a lot, but the filter does have to be replaced and trying to find them... I finally gave up and bought oversized filters and cut them down. This works, which is ok since I do think it is a good unit.

I love mine! Lasts a good two nights, easy to use and I just set it on low and it takes care of all of our bedrooms! Little concerned about the cleaning and having to take it apart, but otherwise a great machine!

I wouldn't recommend this product. It worked really well the first month or so. I used daily during winter dry heating months. The non-replaceable lifetime filter got real dirty fast and all effort to clean - it never worked well after that. This winter (my 2nd) it was loud and leaked. I even tried using very small amounts of dehumidifier treatments in the water. Now I'm looking for a new brand.

It's really noisy so you can't use it at night. The Blue light is so bright that it really lights up the room. It leaks, and I am now looking for a new one. I thought that it being care free would be great, but the filters should be replaced, and it's so noisy. The 30 year old humidifer I have works better than the 30 day old one. Look for a diffrent one!

This worked well the first 2 times, however the no-change filter, really needed to be changed it allowed bacteria and algae etc to grow. Also, it leaks everywhere! If you do not close the gasket just right, or if the water is not the right temperature the water just pours from the container. I have had to use a wrench to close it REALLY tight and it still leaks. I am looking for a new one in a different brand and style. The only positive is the blue light inside the kids really liked looking at it.
