Both my mother and father had macular degeneration as did and do others in my family. when i asked their doctors what i could do before i became symptomatic, they had nothing to offer. When my mother died there were some Lutein caps left over. I started taking them. I swear i can tell the difference in my vision since taking them. Now i take them daily.

Since I've begun taking daily doses of Lutein, I've not had to have changes in my eyeglass Rx. I'm 64 years old and still only wear eyeglasses when I drive because I have mild astigmatism. On the rare occasions when I've stopped taking Lutein for a brief period of time, I notice a distinct deterioration in my eyesight.
