I've used this product for 9 months. Razor - I love the weight and feel of the handle. I used Mach 3 prior to buying this set, so there was a continuity of quality in the shave. Brush - Has held up to daily use, with only a few bristles lost. Far fewer than the daily shedding of my Burma Shave brush. The weight of the brush is comfortable and it whips up a fine lather. Bowl - Last week, the bowl started to show signs of tarnishing as the plating has rubbed off in a few streaks at the bottom of the bowl, probably due to friction with the brush. I have not washed it other than a rinse with water. Soaps/Creams - I used up the puck of shaving soap that shipped with it and found it passable. I often added a drop or two of pre-shave oil to give the lather some richness. Since then I've used Bigelow Chemists shave cream, Caldwell-Massey shave cream, and Herban Cowboy in the bowl. Wonder if any of these caused a chemical reaction to clean off the plating...

I was impressed by this product when I saw it in my friend's bathroom- so much so, that I decided to give them as groomsmen's gifts for my wedding. I've purchased four of them, and I really like their heft, both in the brush and the razor. The flat end of the brush is perfect for an engraved monagram. Unfortunately, I can't comment on how well the kit works (I wouldn't give my groomsmen a 'used' kit), but I'm thinking about getting one for myself. Also, the included soap is REALLY small; I decided to upgrade to Van Der Hagen "Deluxe Shaving Soap" (about [$]), which fits perfectly in the bowl and smells a lot better. Happy shaving!

I found these on sale at drugstore.com and decided that they would be a wonderful present for my groomsmen. Everyone of them thought that they were great. Heavy duty and they take the Mach 3 razor refills. I would definitely recommend this to anyone.

I bought this as a christmas present for my boyfriend - it's absolutely beautiful, heavy and shiny. The soap smells awful though; I'd consider replacing it with a scent you know you like.

Excellent, good quality shaving set. The price was very reasonable, especially for a Badger brush. I bought it for my fiancee at Christmas and he loves it, gives him a very smooth shave.

I bought this set for my husband as a gift about 2 1/2 years ago and he loves it. It needs a polishing every now and then; well worth the money.

I've shaved with a shaving brush/soap for a couple of years now, until recently using a low-end (plastic) Burma-Shave shaving brush to make up my morning lather. After surfing many Internet sites, I found this to be the best value in terms of style/(presumed) quality/cost. I made a great decision as to the cost/value of my purchase. Brush and razor handles, cup and stand are all very high quality nickel-plated steel. The brush and razor handle are solid metal, which are considerably hefty (some may think too heavy). The badger brush bristles are quite fine and work up a good lather quickly. The razor handle is compatible with a Gillette Mach 3 Razor. The included shaving soap is passable, but I prefer my favorite - Lightfoot's Pure Pine-Scented Soap (obtained elsewhere). If you like to shave "the old fashioned way, this is a luxurious way to do it (without breaking the bank).

Excellent quality. The soap that comes with it is nice also. The Badger brush makes great lather, and its handle and the razor are made out of heavy nickel. The price was a great deal. Other shave sets I priced are well over a hundred dollars for this kind of quality.
