I hate the Chillow. Although it stays cool, it does not stay put! Ten cups of water must be added to the thing to make it work, making it heavy. The device is then slipped between the pillow and pillowcase. The Chillow is so heavy and slippery that it slides around inside of the pillowcase causing extreme discomfort, lack of sleep and pains in the neck and shoulders that last the entire next day and beyond. I've tried it a few times with different pillows and I'm miserable each time. So disappointing.

I would recommend this product for people that have trouble sleeping through hot summer nights and don't mind having an un-fluffy pillow. It is true that the Chillow isn't lightweight and will crush down your pillow (especially if it is a feather down pillow). The only problem seems to be springing a leak, which mine did after about a month of daily use. But I also put it in the freezer, which the manufacturer doesn't recommend. Duct tape seems to fix the leak just fine.

It would have made a great product, but I found water leaking from a small hole at the corner of the pillow after using it just once. I am not sure if the hole was already there when I bought it, or if I caused it in the process of filling it up with water. It should have been made more durable to sustain a higher degree of pressure.

It's a great idea, and it works well for my husband who's diabled; however, I had to buy two to keep switching them for him when one gets hot. I bought one for myself, which leaked. I've put duct tape on it, and so far it's holding. The product definitely needs improvement.

Product works. Unfortunately, the BIGGEST problem (and I should know, this is my FIFTH Chillow) is horrible seam construction. Within 6-8 months (or sooner) of use, you're bound to bust a leak. You'll first notice it by a hint of moisture when washing pillow cases and letting this sucker slide out. That said, the product WORKS great as far as cooling your head on a hot evening. But until the manufacturers get their act together put HEAVY-DUTY, NON-LEAK seams, this is not a LONG-TERM, durable product lasting years. It seems to have a life of at least 8 months of continuous use before you end up buying another.

This pillow is fabulous! I use it on my lap to keep the heat from my laptop becoming uncomfortable. My mother-in-law loved it so much for hot flashes; I gave her one and bought another. I also gave my friend one who also has hot flashes and once again had to buy another. Note: Be patient with the water filling process. The reward is worth it! Also, don't forget to add a bit of water once in awhile to keep it functioning as cool as possible.

One aspect of this device that is never brought to the consumer's attention is the weight of Chillow once activated. Once you've added more than 2 quarts of water, this product is heavy! If you ever want to flip your pillow, you must wrestle with it. Additionally, Chillow is flexible. To maintain a horizontal pillow is easy enough but to use it, say, as a back soother in a chair results in a collapse/folding of Chillow. Carefully consider these aspects when purchasing; they may be an inconvenience to you as well.

Works great, but the welded plastic seam is too narrow and fails after a few months of use (I'm on my third one, so I have some perspective). If the seam was improved it would be 5 stars, but the poor quality and the relatively high price takes it down 3 stars. Better seams and a lower price would make it 5 stars in my book.

I love my Chillow! I've had mine for almost 6 months and haven't had any problems at all. I have 4 on the bed for my husband and me. The Chillow definitely made the 100-degree summer bearable. For me, it's made the difference between being able to sleep comfortably and being hot and uncomfortable the entire night. I'd recommend it!
