I have extremely hard water in my area, so I thought I'd give Calgon Water Softener a try. It says on the package that my white clothes would look whiter and my color clothes would look brighter and this is what I found after I did several loads of wash the first time I used it. All of my clothes look great and even seem cleaner than they usually do. It costs me extra to add this to the wash although I only add one capful per load, but it is worth the extra I spend to get my clothes cleaner than I've ever seen them before.

If you own an RV, you can use Calgon in your holding tanks to keep your sensors working properly. It's always nice to know how much room you have left in your holding tanks. Since we've been using Calgon, we've eliminated false readings.

Don't spend money on silver cleaners and do all that rubbing. Put a sheet of aluminum foil in the bottom of your sink. Add a capful of Calgon water softener, a tablespoon of salt and warm water. Swish it till it's mixed...drop in your silver items. Only takes a minute. Take out silver, rinse in warm water and dry. It's GREAT!

I use it with Spick and Span to clean broiler pans and pyrex with baked on stuff. Simply let it soak overnight...and rinse. I use it with the laundry, iIn my bath water, in a bucket of water to wash down painted walls....it takes off crayon or pencil in a whiz without damaging the paint. I learned that from professional cleaners decades ago. It simplly makes any chore involving water easier!

I have never lived in an area where our water is so bad. I use a capful in each washload. The towels are noticably softer and the white scale build up is less where I can see it. I hope this is true inside the washer.

I have used Calgon for over 50 years. My father used it in Whirlpool washers to protect the pumps and other parts. Having used the powdered form of Calgon I was quite pleased with the look and feel of my clothes with the "new" Calgon. I live in a "hard" water area and it was ruining my clothing. The Calgon not only keeps the minerals from spoiling my clothes but also gets the old soap residue out.
