For more than 80 years, Abbott's Similac brand formulas have been proven to be a safe and effective source of nutrition for millions of healthy babies. In response to mothers seeking "BPA free" products, Abbott is pleased to share that it has now achieved "BPA free" status in all of its Similac® brand powdered infant formula products.
Abbott products have been tested for BPA using the most sensitive and conservative tests available, and levels are undetectable for all powdered products and consistently 50 times below international safety standards for other infant nutrition products.
According to the U.S. Surgeon General, "The most important thing parents can do for their babies is ensure that they receive adequate nutrition. While the best source of nutrition for babies is a mother's breast milk, infant formula remains the recommended alternative when breast milk is not an option."

Comments about Similac NeoSure, Infant Formula with Iron, Powder, 12.8 oz:
My son was born at 33wks3days and 4 lbs 7 oz. so the dr had me supplement my breast milk with this, and after 3 months of very little supply, we switched over fully to NeoSure. My son had a lot of gas and upset stomachs from the beginning, and then once we made the switch over to being fully NeoSure, he had really bad constipation and we had to do a lot to manage it (pear juice, prune juice, leg exercises, etc.) At 9 months (and 22 pounds) we were finally able to switch him off the NeoSure and onto Gerber Good Start which has completely cleared up his constipation. All in all, NeoSure really does do it's job, the weight came on fast. He's now in the 88th percentile for weight for his age. However, I am glad to be done with it.

Comments about Similac NeoSure, Infant Formula with Iron, Powder, 12.8 oz:
My youngest son was born at 33 wk 5 d, this was given as supplement for breast milk ever since his NICU days. We were recommended to continue for at least one feeding a day with Neosure even though I had enough supply of breast milk. It worked out just fantastic.
Only issue we had at the beginning was that if you start prepare the formula right before the feeding, tiny clusters of dry powder can be seen in the bottle. However the issue was resolved after we figured out that if you start mixing an hour or so before the feeding time the dry clusters would be all gone by the time we started feeding.

Comments about Similac NeoSure, Infant Formula with Iron, Powder, 12.8 oz:
I was very happy with the product at first because my daughter was born 8 weeks early. She gained rapided weight in a short amount of time. I noticed that as the weeks went by she started to make strange noises and had very bad gas which led to days of constapation i finally had to switch formulas and was able to solve my daughters gas and constapation problem.
Comments about Similac NeoSure, Infant Formula with Iron, Powder, 12.8 oz:
My baby was born premature (35 weeks) and the doctor recommended that I added some formula to provide my baby with some additional calories. He has gained the needed weight and I am still complementing breastfeeding with this formula. I plan to keep using it at least until he is 9 months.

Comments about Similac NeoSure, Infant Formula with Iron, Powder, 12.8 oz:
This formula is EXCELLENT! My twins were 7.5 weeks premature and they weighed 3lb14oz and 4lb3oz and within 2 months they are now 9+lbs each - well worth the money. With twins the only thing I've found is the pre-made formula is easier, but it's not always easy to find. My son had a little gas but we tried all the bottles on the market and after many sleepless nights and a lot of money we found Dr. Browns are best along with this formula. Thanks for reading and God Bless!
Comments about Similac NeoSure, Infant Formula with Iron, Powder, 12.8 oz:
My son was born 7 weeks early and after my breastmilk decided to stop, there needed to be an equal supplement. His pediatrician recomended this item, and he has gained weight and is growing like a weed. He has a few spit ups, but I think that is because he tends to drink quite fast. Other than that, this formula is gold.

Comments about Similac NeoSure, Infant Formula with Iron, Powder, 12.8 oz:
I like it because it really does put the weight on the babies. I started pumping, but once he came home (which was a month after he was born), it was too much for me to continue because it was hard for me to juggle him and my 7 year old. It put a whole pound on my baby in 9 days. To all of you who have little babies, trust and know that NeoSure is excellent for the baby.
Your baby's health depends on carefully following these easy directions. Proper hygiene, handling, and storage are important when preparing infant formula. Failure to follow these directions could result in severe harm. Powdered infant formulas are not sterile and should not be fed to premature infants or infants who might have immune problems unless directed and supervised by your baby's doctor. Consult your baby's doctor about the formula appropriate for your baby; the need to use cooled, boiled water for mixing; and the need to boil utensils, bottles and nipples in water before use.
Wash your hands, surfaces and utensils
Pour desired amount of water into clean bottle (see chart on container)
Add Powder; return dry scoop to can
Cap bottle; shake well; attach nipple
Once feeding begins, use within 1 hour or discard.
To Make Approximately:
2 fl oz bottle add 2 fl oz water & 1 unpacked level scoop
4 fl oz bottle add 4 fl oz water & 2 unpacked level scoop
6 fl oz bottle add 6 fl oz water & 3 unpacked level scoop
8 fl oz bottle add 8 fl oz water & 4 unpacked level scoop
To make a larger amount of formula using a standard measuring cup, add 1 unpacked, level cup (Not the enclosed scoop) of Powder to 23 fl oz of water. Yields approximately 26 fl oz of formula. To maintain freshness, pour prepared formula into individual feeding bottles, cap and store in refrigerator. Prepared formula should not be left unrefrigerated.
Storage: Immediately store prepared individual feeding bottles in refrigerator at 35° - 40° F (2-4° C) and use within 24 hours. Store unopened cans at room temperature; avoid extreme temperatures. Cover opened can and store in a cool, dry area (not in refrigerator). Use opened can contents within 1 month. Use by Date on Bottom of Can.
