I read a lot of reviews, some of which alleged that this medication was effective at relieving post nasal drip. I took one a day for a week and when I saw no result I took one twice a day for another week. There was no perceptible change in the condition. In all fairness, I have had the condition for over 20 years, so it may take a lot more time to get rid of it. I have tried a number of prescription medications to get rid of the condition and nothing has worked. It may be that others who have this condition and have tried rx meds have food or environmental conditions that do not respond to the medications used, including OTC meds. So the next step should probably be to start to change diet (maybe eliminate dairy products or gluten) and see if that works. If not, then maybe have skin tests for environmental allergens, like tree and grass pollens. It seems that allergies that cause the production of excessive mucous do not respond to musinex.

These things are great, but they are the biggest pills I've ever seen. I don't have much of a problem swallowing pills, but my husband does and he can't even take these they are so huge. I don't know why they can't make them smaller and make the dose 2 small pills instead of one giant pill. Also, since even though you're supposed to swallow them whole you still get a gross sour taste from them, so it would be nice if they were coated.

this is one product that does everything it claims to do. It works very quickly. The pills have a sour taste to them. Even though the pills are meant to be swallowed, you still get a little bit of a sour flavor. I would still recommend Mucinex. It completely relieves congestion and the relief lasts all day.

Recommended by our doctors to get rid of chest congestion. It does cause coughing but that's the effect - to cough up the mucus which can cause more infection.
