Depending what toothpaste I'm using, I tend to have tartar build up quickly around my bottom front teeth. I thought if I could keep on top of it it would make dentist appointments easier. With this set, the mirror is fine, but the pick is super flimsy so when you try to pull up on it, it just bends. However, I've been able to use the scaler in place of it, and it works fine.

Quality of product is better than expected ... Mirror truly "is" a real mirror ... (people who got gray tape version should return it and ask for a replacement... Manuf fault, NOT Drugstore's) ... Mirror doesn't fog with normal use, but ANY mirror will fog if you huff on it hard enough, geez people, have common sense ... Mirror has a good angle ... You need to be looking into a regular mirror WHILE using the hand mirror to see behind teeth while searching for cavities, plaque, etc ...

Big hooked pik is sturdy with a thin, very long loop, so easy to use between teeth ... Scaler has one flat side you lay against the gumline at an angle & pull tool AWAY from gums gently ... Persons with sensitive teeth are going to have pain touching receding gums, fact of life... What helps: BEFORE scaling, use some "baby teething gel" while brushing, THEN scale.

Love the scaler. It efficiently removed plaque that gathers on front lower teeth. The tool that is a hook and is used to clean between teeth could be sturdier, but for the price I like the product. I'm not sure what the comments about the mirror are? I found it to be very effective.

I've used it a couple of times and it exceeded my expectations. The mirror didn't fog up and the whole process took minutes... I guess I got a good one. =)

I have seen some improvement with this set, which I have just started using. It is very effective if you are VERY careful and follow all directions, but I wonder if many people really have the patience and skill to use the product in a way that is correct, not harming the enamel on their teeth, and effective. I have seen better if not as immediate results with higher-end electric toothbrush systems when it comes to removing the stains that accumulate particularly on the gumline of hard to reach back teeth. These results are cumulative, whereas with this particular product, you really can do your own scaling and clean your own teeth immediately- if you feel like it. It is labor intensive and slightly painful, but I suppose it's not a bad idea to have the set around. I have no complaints about the quality and construction of the product itself; everything seems up to par. There appear to be a number of complaints about the mirror; I felt it was a normal mirror. It was hardly "fog-free", but it worked as expected.

I read some reviewers did not receive an actual mirror, that it was a piece gray tape. I must have gotten the good batch, because the mirror is real and it doesn't fog up. I had orthodontic work done, so the pik and scaler help me get in those hard to reach spots to remove lodged food particles. The mirror works just fine.

I ordered this product with high expectations, I guess--it seemed to be the exact thing I needed to improve oral hygene. I had larangeayl cancer, and they removed my voice box. Now I have a plastic tube in its place, which needs cleaning each day. I ordered the tools to do this.

HOWEVER, when I received the product, I discovered that the "Mirror" at the end of one piece is NOT a mirror; only a dull piece of gray tape which doesn't reflect a thing. Don't waste your money.

The product description is misleading. What was supposed to be a mirror finish on the tip of the main tool is nothing more than a dull silver tape--and gives a reflection of nothing. I looked forward to receiving something I have a need for; but all I got was disappointment. A waste of time and money.
