Neutrogena Sunblock, Ultra Sheer Dry-Touch SPF453 fl oz (88 ml)
A great all-over, everyday sunblock -- so absorbent and light you won't even notice it. Other perks of this dermatologist-recommended, broad-spectrum sunblock: antioxidants to fight environmental damage, waterproof, sweat-proof, and it won't clog pores. |

This is the best sunblock ... by Anonymous in Undisclosed on 3/29/05This is the best sunblock money can buy at a drugstore.
When I was on safari in Africa, I knew that this was the only product I would have to take-- and it performed spectacularly.
I have lily-white skin, just like Nicole Kidman, even after two weeks out in the equatorial sun. I just want people to understand that this product is NOT waterproof, and it doesn't advertise itself as being such! If you are in contact with water, YOU NEED TO REAPPLY! But if you do so, it works. Also, one of the reasons this sunscreen works so great is that its got multiple kinds of chemicals in it, not just one kind-- one of them, though, the Parsol I think, stings like hell, so be careful when applying around the eyes.
But other than that, all the claims about the coverage are absolutely true. This stuff really is non-comedogenic and non-acnegenic, even for me, and I really am acne-prone.

I highly recommend for people who still feel thick or greasy with this product should consider changing their other skin care products they apply under the sunscreen. Generally it's better if you wait a few minutes until lotions dry before putting on sunscreen.
Very light, but very ... by Anonymous in Undisclosed on 1/21/05Very light, but very effective.
Banana Boat is way too greasy. I use this on my 18-month-old daughter as well.
May not be the best for active water use, such as kayaking (I would use one with zinc oxide in it), but for daytrips to the zoo, etc. - it's the best.
Skincare products is just ... by Anonymous in Undisclosed on 9/15/04Skincare products is just one of those things that work for some and not for others, as the wide array of reviews will testify. This one worked on me, but being one of those people who never burn I'm a little concerned as to whether it is actually protecting me or not. I use it primarily as a preventative measure for signs of aging, so I suppose only time will tell. Otherwise, this is a fantastic lotion; I layer on a lot of products in the morning (from acne cream to powder) and not once has this flaked on me. I can blot my face mid-day and come out grease-free. It makes my face feel very smooth, and hopefully it will also help keep it that way.
While this product claims ... by Anonymous in Undisclosed on 8/30/04While this product claims to be "Dry-Touch", it made my skin very greasy and never seems to completely absorb. On the upside, this product has a nice, fresh scent unlike some other sunscreens I've tried.
In an attempt to be ... by Anonymous in Undisclosed on 8/24/04In an attempt to be unbiased and completely honest despite the fact that I LOVE this product, I have to admit that you do have to be careful about rubbing your eyes because it will sting and cause you to tear. Also, while I think that the SPF 30 is even drier to the touch, this item is really a godsend for me because it is waaaaaay better than any other product out there because I'm never left with a greasy/shiny look afterwards. I use it exclusively for my face and love the matte look that I'm left with.
This sunblock burns my ... by Anonymous in Undisclosed on 8/17/04This sunblock burns my eyes even though I try not to apply it near the eyes. Since I couldn't use it on my face, I started to use it on my neck. After a few days, I got a rash and flaky skin on my neck. I noticed the tube comes with a warning that says discontinue use if rash appears. I've not had any irritation with any other sun block before, so this is unusual.
I got burned four times. ... by Ben in San Jose, CA on 8/2/04I got burned four times. This product hardly works at all, and it's completely non-sweat proof and non-waterproof. First, I burned badly after I drenched myself in this stuff and then spent a day at the lakeshore fishing. I noticed I was burning, so I even applied another sunblock midday, but I had already been burned. Another time after slathering my face and head, my forehead lightly burned during a 1-hour boat ride on a lake. Finally, my shoulders and forehead burned badly after applying this immediately before swimming. I also applied it midway though my swimming activity, but I still burned.
Banana Boat SPF 50 has worked perfectly for me on snow, on the ocean, and on glaciers for many days of 12-hour harsh exposure. This stuff failed after less than an hour. Worthless! Even worse, it cost me burns.

An outstanding sunscreen ... by Anonymous in Undisclosed on 7/14/04An outstanding sunscreen that those of us who must wear a high-SPF product every day can wear with abandon. Non-greasy, and tingled a bit on my very sensitive skin -- but no averse reaction to report. |
