Neutrogena Sunblock, Ultra Sheer Dry-Touch SPF453 fl oz (88 ml)
A great all-over, everyday sunblock -- so absorbent and light you won't even notice it. Other perks of this dermatologist-recommended, broad-spectrum sunblock: antioxidants to fight environmental damage, waterproof, sweat-proof, and it won't clog pores. |

Light and good for sensitive skin by cailinoilean in Willow Grove, PA on 9/15/09Pros: Not Greasy, Rubs In Well Describe Yourself: Brand Buyer Best Uses: Beach Bottom Line: recommended I have sensitive skin and did not have any reaction to the product. It has a light feel to it and easy to rub in.
Matte yes, protective dunnoh by srnm in New Mexico on 5/26/09Pros: Great base under makeup, Matte Finish, Non-comedogenic, Not Greasy, UVA/UVB Protection Cons: Burns eyes, Not Effective Describe Yourself: Brand Buyer Best Uses: Under a hat, Under makeup Bottom Line: not recommended It produces a great finish to the skin for going without makeup or as a base for makeup. BUT, even when I deliberately use an equal or greater amount than I would with my usual oily SPF 30 from another company, it doesn't seem to provide as much protection. And, I've never had any sunscreen burn worse if it in any way comes in contact with the eyes.
not waterproof by Surfer in San Francisco,CA on 4/17/09Cons: Greasy or Heavy, Not Effective, Runs Easily Describe Yourself: Brand Buyer Bottom Line: not recommended Applied the product 30 minutes before I got into the water. It does not absorb very quickly and a little greasy, but I could live with that if it worked well. With the first splash of water the product stings eyes so you know it doesn't stay in place and washes off easily. If it was waterproof I wouldn't have burned myself.
Greasy, stings eyes by Sun-conscious in NY on 3/12/09Cons: Greasy or Heavy, Runs Easily Describe Yourself: Brand Buyer Bottom Line: not recommended A common problem w/ sunscreen usage is people put on too little. Unfortunately, when I try to put on the 'recommended' amount, it doesn't dry and looks greasy, until I put foundation powder over it. At least, it doesn't get clumpy and flake off when I do that, unlike some other sunscreens. If I use a lot less product, it does live up to the sheer (though not completely dry) claim, but that's not good practice, is it, even at SPF 45? The worst thing for me is that, maybe it's the eye cream I put on before hand, this stuff runs into my eyes and irritates them the entire day, so I look red-eyed. I'm still on the hunt for a good sunscreen.
The best sunscreen for face by Elizabeth in S.F., CA on 11/2/08Pros: Effective Protection, Non-comedogenic, Not Greasy, Rubs In Well, UVA/UVB Protection Describe Yourself: Budget Buyer Best Uses: Daily Use Bottom Line: recommended Of all the brands I tried, this is the best one in the Neutragena series for daily use.
Brilliant! I love how ... by Hannah in Undisclosed on 12/21/07Brilliant! I love how it's a very effective protectant and yet doesn't leave my skin greasy at all. I mix it with a bit of Clean & Clear Advantage moisturizer just to prep my face for the day. Make sure you apply well to the edge of your hairline. LOVE IT!
Stay away from this if ... by Melissa in Victorville, CA on 10/7/07Stay away from this if you have oily skin. It's too thick, too heavy and sweats off your face in the summer. My skin is oily and acne prone and it broke me out. And like someone else said, you can't put this on your eye area... which is a shame, because it DOES need protection. It stings like hell if you put it there, so just trust us and DON'T. This would probably be fine for drier skins or fine if you have oily body skin, so you can just use it as a body moisturizer.
So many people love this ... by Maggie in Greenbrae, CA on 8/12/07So many people love this product, so I can't NOT recommend it. You'll have to try it for yourself.
The scent doesn't offend me, and it feels okay going on. I didn't find the finish to be very matte, but it's not bad. The thing that bugs the heck out of me about the Neutrogena sunscreen line is that it "pills" on my skin. The product flakes up and makes me look like I'm molting. A further insult: I have some wee little delicate lines on my neck (true except for the "wee, "little, and "delicate"), and the residue of this product settles whitely into the lines as if to say, "Go ahead
This might protect ... by Anonymous in Undisclosed on 7/24/07This might protect against sunburns, but many other sunscreens perform equally well without burning your eyes. The eye area needs protection as well, but when I put this anywhere near my eyes, they would water and burn for a good 20-30 minutes. I will not buy this again. Try something else.
My family and I have just ... by Christine in Southold, NY on 7/2/07My family and I have just returned from 7 days in Disney World, Florida and used this sunscreen every day. We applied it at 7am before leaving for the parks and only reapplied in the late afternoon before heading to the pool. None of us got a sunburn the entire trip! This sunscreen is wonderful! (this review coming from a fair-skinned, 42 year old who has had 3 incidents of basal-cell skin cancer). It does burn the eyes if it gets too close! |
