I'm not sure why NARS calls this a "lipstain" because it's anything but. I bought this in "Rage", a light, coral rose color. Although the color looked ok on me in the store, when I got home and tried it on in natural light, it just didn't suit my medium warm undertoned skin welll and made me look almost washed out. On my lips it looked real opaque and I had to apply very little because it's easy to put too much on. I had to apply it with my finger and blot some off because applying it with the applicator was just too much and too heavy looking. After 30 minutes of normal wear, the color is gone already. There's absolutely no shine to it even though it was advertised as a lip gloss also. Like I already mentioned, the consistency is opaque and very matte with very little to no shine.Bottom line: it wears like a lipgloss and doesn't sink into your lips like a real stain does. Instead, it sits on top of your lips and doesn't last very long. For [$], I'm very disappointed.

Great neutral lip color! This product lasts and lasts. Looks great as a matte lip color, requiring very little touch-up. And it also looks great as a base; change it up a bit with different lip gloss colors for infinite variations or just a nice clear gloss for a beautiful look. I've found it lasts longer without the gloss application but WOW it looks great! Can be a little drying due to it's formula (which I'm sure is what gives it staying power), so a nice primer is one way to counteract this one tiny drawback. The colors are intense; this one is quite nice, though. The darker ones are too much for me. "Rage" is about as far up as I can go myself, but then I'm fair/light in complexion. "Sayonara" is just beautiful! Great job, NARS!

This color is NOT accurately portrayed at all! This is VERY heavy color pigmentation and don't let the "gloss" title fool you because it isn't. The color is more berry/coral than it is plum brown. Goes on very heavy with the wand and must be used with lip brush or finger to get even over lips. Wear isn't as good as I thought it would be for stain.
