Good smell, love that it's natural, but it caused me to break out. I gave the product 3 weeks of use and during that time ended up with 2 breakout episodes.

Probably not great for people with acne-prone skin.

I have sensitive, combination skin that is prone to acne and hyper-pigmentation. It's hard to find products that provide balance; most seem to treat one issue while aggravating another. I have tried many natural (and not so natural) products that I have liked but never really loved. I wanted to simplify my routine so I scrapped all of my products and started from scratch. I am down to just two things - this face wash and Thayers Lavendar Witch Hazel - and my skin looks better then it has in years. I use this with a gentle BufPuf for cleansing and exfoliating in the shower and I tone with witch hazel on a cotton round when I get out. Sometimes I use the toner over the course of the day to freshen up but always use the cleanser and toner again before bed. My pores are tight, my skin has a glow and my pigment spots are fading. This is hands down the best facial cleanser I've tried. It doesn't dry me out, my skin feels clean and my breakouts have greatly reduced. As an added bonus this bottle is huge and lasts for a really long time. I having been using it daily for months and I'm not half way through my first bottle.

This is fantastic! I'm 51 and started to have problems with my skin texture and breakouts on my chin. I tried several higher end products that 'claimed' to address these issues. Nothing worked. I've been pleased with other Desert Essence products and decided to try this. My skin texture has already improved and my chin is clearing up after only 5 washes!

The best face wash i ever use. I love this face wash. It help clear my acne and leave my skin feeling really soft. I also notice that my dark spot is already lighten up too. I love it! So glad to have found something that work for my sensitive skin.

This has cleaned up my daughters acne in less than a week.She has been to the doctor and nothing worked, untill now. I have always used Tea Tree Oil but this was a first in a soap. I Love it,skin is smooth and clean after use!

This is the third time I bought the product. I am combination skin. The price is amazing, and the product clean well. The smell is not good, but I think it's the real smell for natural. This is the only cleaner I use for my face. By the way, sometimes I use it for body wash.

I have been searching for a daily regimen (face wash / toner / moisturizer) for a very, very long time. I have incredibly sensitive skin and am super sensitive to chemicals and fragrances (natural or otherwise). I have tried so many different product lines but I think I have finally found the one. This stuff is more than effective at cleaning your face. I was prescribed steroids for years due to my autoimmune condition Lupus, and it caused deep cystic acne. This and a home-made facial toner I have concocted for myself, followed by 100% Aloe Vera gel, are the only things that helped with it. The facial toner contains: lemon juice, Apple cider vinegar, witch hazel, tea tree oil, a small amount of isopropyl alcohol. It works to balance the ph levels on your face. I have even taken to mixing a little aloe Vera in with my toner when I make it lately. I would wash with this, then follow with the toner, and after it dried, I would apply the aloe Vera. Luckily I am no longer on steroids, but I still continue to use this routine, my skin has never looked better!

This doesn't smell great, but man, does it work. It's all natural and washes everything away, even stubborn makeup. I have adult acne, and this is the only cleanser I use. It's a bit drying, so you will need to moisturize after use. And one bottle lasts for months.

When I find a product that works, I stick to it! This helps clear pimples and problem skin, isn't too drying and gently cleans oil from my face. I don't wear much makeup but on days when I do, it washes off just fine without additional makeup remover. I like the smell, it's how essential oils smell like, pure and potent. Sometimes I do see a white film just around my nose, which has happened with other castile soaps. It's because there are not any ingredients meant to strip your skin of oil so the white film is the oil that wasn't able to completely wash away mixed with the castile soap. Gently washing the area with a wash cloth does the trick. Even with that gimmick, I would still stick to the face wash.
