Conair Ceramic Striaghtener, 2Works Great
by Sammy[Verified Reviewer] in Tx on 11/24/08
Pros: Creates Shine, Durable, Good Quality, Heats Up Fast, Multiple Settings, Smooths Frizz, Versatile, Works Great
Describe Yourself: Minimalist
Best Uses: Frizzy Hair, Long Hair, Straight Hair, Thick Hair
Bottom Line: recommended
I have had this product for 4 yrs...still works great minus the loss of ceramics. Its been working great to this day. But I feel like buying a new one just wondering if there are any other better prods available. But about this one, it works great for the price. I have not used any other products to compare it to so...I would say go for it if you want a durable product.

Conair Ceramic Striaghtener, 2Ok.
by bryz[Verified Reviewer] in GA on 9/6/08
I got this straightener last year and it has worked fine. I only use the attachments when I'm touching up my hair the day after, otherwise I us a paddle brush cause its a lot easier. To get my super curly, but relatively normal thickness hair to straighten I have to use high heat. It usually takes about 20-30 minutes just to flat iron my hair with this so I don't use it that often. With some Dove products my hair is pretty straight and shiny, so its not a horrible product, just not the best.

i liked it in the beginning, but after buying 2 in less than 2 years... not so much. the spring mechanism broke on the first one, so every time it clamped down it stayed clamped, and i would have to physically un-clamp it, using both hands and excessive force. the second one i bought still opens and closes normally, but the temperature is noticably cooler than when i first bought it. even my friends have said "your hair isn't as straight as it normally is"... ugh.
Conair Ceramic Striaghtener, 2Good dual voltage iron
by Sandee[Verified Reviewer] in Seattle on 7/31/08
Pros: Dual voltage, Lightweight, Multiple Settings
Cons: Bulky, Not professional quality
Describe Yourself: Quality Oriented
Best Uses: Travel
I bought this specifically for international travel. I used this in France with my adapter and it worked fine. I plan to use this on my trip to Australia too. I do not use this as my regular straightener at home. I use CHI at home, but it's too heavy to travel with and if I lose it or it gets damaged it's really expensive to replace. The Conair flat iron is cheap and I can just go buy another one if it breaks.
Conair Ceramic Striaghtener, 2Lasted a long time

Pros: Durable, Good Quality, Heats Up Fast, Smooths Frizz, Works Great
Cons: Bulky
Describe Yourself: Value Oriented
Best Uses: Curly Hair, Frizzy Hair, Thick Hair
Bottom Line: recommended
I had this straightener for three years. I used it about everyday and it worked really well! I have really thick, medium length, African-American hair, and it did it's job, it straightened it, but didn't damage. I used a some heat serums and such before I used it, so that probably helped me from the damage. But anyway, I think it just depends on the user, everyone's hair is different and it worked for me. Recently, however, it got stuck when I would push it closed, so I have to replace it. But it was good for the three years I had it! [:
Conair Ceramic Striaghtener, 2Bad, Very Very Bad
by Anonymous[Verified Reviewer] in Nowhere, New Jersey on 6/23/08
Cons: Complicated To Use, Damages Hair, Stops working over time
Describe Yourself: Greasy Hair, Hard to Control Hair, Long Length Hair, Very Very Thick Hair, Wavy hair
Best Uses: Thinner Hair
Bottom Line: not recommended
This product was horrible for me. i go to school in the morning so I wanted a striaghtener that would, work fast, actualy striaghten not fri my hair, and would last for a long time. But I am on a budget so I defenitly didn't want a [$] dollar straightener. I didn't think that was to much to ask for. But when i get up in the morning I needed to blow dry my hair, I have a vidal sassoon blow dryer that is GREAT so I used that until my hair was dry. It made my hair look healthy. Then i used the straightener and it FRIED MY HAIR, but on top of that didn't even straighten my hair!!!! My hair curls at the ends and I hate that cause one side curls out then the other curls in so it looks odd so I thought by making it striaght down it would look better, but this straightener didn't do anything!! exepect take away the natural look of my hair! it wa horrible. So I recommend that you buy an expensive hair straightener that will work than waste money on buying aweful ones like this.
Conair Ceramic Striaghtener, 2The best straightener for ...
by Annie[Verified Reviewer] in Vancouver, WA on 6/7/08
The best straightener for very thick, unmanageable hair. I have tried the more expensive brands (Chi Babybliss) and a comparable priced brand (Vidal Sassoon) and this one outperformed both on my hair. I have owned it for over 7 years. My hair is usually poufy and frizzy, so straightening is essential. For best results I blow out with a paddle brush first until completely dry, and then straighten in sections with the Conair straightener. I use the highest heat setting. After, I smooth with a bit of Fekkai polishing finish (contains olive oil).

Great... for a little while. I have bought two of these same straightners the first one I bought USED and it lasted me 7 months after buying it used, and it worked fantastic on my hair and I fell in love with the 25 heat settings, easy-ness to use, and the way it kept my hair frizz free, BUTTTT... after 7 months, it started getting really bad hot spots (heats up really hot, than goes back to normal heat settings) and it fried my hair!! I loved the first one so I went and bought another one of the same kind and it ended up only lasting 5 months, before one morning I woke up and started straightening my hair and it just quit heating But other than that, I loved the straightner.
Conair Ceramic Striaghtener, 2I like this straightener ...

I like this straightener because it doesn't give my hair that dead, stick-straight look that for whatever reason is so popular. I just wanted something to smooth out my waves and curls once in a while. This straightener did just that without sucking the life out of my hair in the process. I'm able to smooth my course hair in one pass most of the time, and my hair maintains a healthy look to it. I also like the comb attachment a lot. I don't see why others found it so difficult to use. My hair is medium-long and very thick and wavy, and the comb attachment didn't tangle it at all - it kept my hair taut just as it's supposed to. Overall, I'm very pleased with this straightener. Im leaving off one star because it does seem to be more difficult to straighten my roots.
