I grew up using the Vicks VapoRub (ointment) so I knew I was going to love this product. The refill pads are really tiny, and they are only good for one night. That's fair. Depending on the setting, the pads last most of the night with the menthol scent ranging from a low - high. To me the pads last as long as the box says. However, the scent/Vapors (which is what you are buying this for) doesn't cover large areas. It's not supposed to. Place the unit near YOU - or find a comfortable distance for the vapors to reach you. I say buy an extra one and you won't be disappointed. This product doesn't release moisture to the air, so it's not entirely like, nor can it replace the non-waterless Vaporizers. Duh. But this product does releases soothing Vicks vapors (menthol) into the air. It makes me feel better when I am sick, AND because this product is easier, and less messy than a regular non-waterless vaporizer or Vicks VapoRub I find that I use it even when I just want to ease myself to sleep. This product is a great medicine companion. The light bugs me, but it's dim enough to ignore. It's easy even for a child to open, so place out of reach of children that don't know any better.

This device was a miraculous lifesaver! I detest the smell of Vicks, but since this unit allowed me to be able to breathe and sleep through a stuffy nose head cold, I now am grateful for that smell. No sleeping upright with my mouth open, getting a sore throat! I have sent one to each of my adult children and have told anyone who will listen to purchase one for their household. I cannot recommend this highly enough.

I absolutely love this product. We had the *mold* problem, and this is by far better than the water vaporizer. Yes, if you turn it way up on high and/or put it right up next to the bedside, the smell may make you nauseous (because it is so intense). Using it on low and putting it about 4 feet away from the "patient" means a lot more easy breathing nights during cold (and allergy) season! I have purchased one for each bedroom of our house.

I was very impressed with this product. I received it as a gift to help my daughter. Well, it not only helped her, but the entire family was breathing and sleeping better. My only disappointment is the pads don't last longer. And, the refills are so expensive and you only get a few. I would like to see more in the refill box for that price.

What a disappointment! The smell was very chemical-like and made our entire family nauseous. Why they can't use the standard eucalyptus/menthol oils that have been proven for hundreds of years is beyond me. I ended-up buying the Vapor-Eze one, which has a natural scent and is much more pleasant.

The smell was not unpleasant, smells like regular Vicks Vaporub. I started feeling clearer as soon as I set it up. The night-light is bright, but not annoying. Perfect for checking up on a sick child. I bought this because I didn't want to give my infant medication and this helped us all breathe better at night.

This item looked like a great product. Really good name and very nice package, but the pads smell really funky and didn't provide me any relief at all. The refill pads were hard to open and the ink actually came off of the refill package on my fingers because they had the oil on them. Yucch! I bought some of the Vapor-Eze pads that look pretty much the same, but were so much better I couldn't believe it.

The smell of these refills made my child feel ill. The package the refills came in didnt look like it would last a month. They really don't smell like Menthol or Eucalyptus oil either.

This is a cute little unit, but the refill pads are really terrible. I couldnt believe how flimsy and cheap they are. They smell funny, and dont last very long. I was extremely disappointed by this product since it is from a company as big as Vicks.
