I have tried many vaporizers/humidifiers over the years. Most are too large, unwieldy, heavy, and hard to fill with water. This humdifier is just right for me. It's lightweight, easy to fill from the tub, and puts out plenty of moisture, which is great for my skin and nasal passages, especially in winter. There are much more expensive and complicated machines on the market; this one is simple, attractive, and meets my needs. It's perfect. I love it.

This is a compact unit that fits almost anywhere and is easy to use. It's quiet and has a good output of steam. You use regular tap water with the unit, and even after several days of continuous use we have not seen any mineral deposits. The tank fits on top of the base snugly and can't be easily knocked over. We leave water in the unit even when it's not on and have had no problems. We bought one last week and ended up putting it in the bedroom, and it's been a great help with my husband's congestion. We'll buy a second one for the living room. The only downside to this unit is that it's easy to drip water when removing and refilling the tank, so you will want to place the humidifier on a surface that can handle some water drips. This means it really can't be put on the carpet. Also, as with all humidifiers, you don't want to put it near paper products, books, or fabrics - they'll pick up moisture.

This is a fairly inexpensive, quiet, very simple, and fairly effective warm humidifier. I have had mine for a few years. It still works well. I clean it about once a month or so when there is mineral build up. It is not the best. It is not the worst. I use it and am satisfied. I add an inhalant and that makes it even more useful. It is very attractive, compact, and simple. You will get what you pay for it.

I recently purchased this warm air unit for the winter. It does not make much noise on level 1. I have a humidity meter on the other side of room and it correctly showed increase from 20% to 30% overnight. The only time it will leak is if the there is a crack in the tank (air can get in) or the bottom valve is not tight. I switched mine off and it did not leak! After trying 2 different cool mist type units, that had clogged filter after only a few weeks, this unit is a welcome replacement. The fact that no bacteria grow is very important. The cool-mist type has stagnant water of days on end. If you read their instructions you have to clean with vinegar every week and BLEACH every 2 weeks. You don't see anything, but the bacteria are growing. I also had noise from the fan with cool-mist type unit. If you have hard water, perhaps the V5100N is better.

This humidifier is cheap. The water tank just "sits" on the unit. It does not snap securely into place and be careful not to bump it over, because odds are it would tip off! I did not realize that you had to empty the tank if you turn it off; you cannot leave water in it unless you are running it. I left the tank about half full, came back and found that water had leaked all over the bookcase I set it on and onto books. What a nightmare! Why was it leaking?? If you do buy this and I would NOT recommend you do, be sure to put a towel underneath. They also say don't place it near a wall, on the floor, on anything wood...well where are you supposed to put it? The medicine cup is nothing fancy, and realize that you won't actually SEE any steam. If you want a machine that you have to BABYSIT (the instructions say you have to clean some parts DAILY and other parts WEEKLY!!) then get this humidifier.

This is one of the most stylish and compact warm-air humidifiers I've seen on the market. It works well and moisturizes the air for around 11 hours a filling. I used it this past winter and noticed that it became nosier- it used to be very quiet and towards the end of the winter it started hissing a bit. Still, it's a great humidifier that is very easy to clean, and with the most idiot-proof controls in the world. The control only gives you two options! Simple and elegant; I recommend it for small bedrooms.
