Well, first off. I don't have sensitive teeth. It was actually out of laziness that I found out I liked this product. My husband uses this product and loves it. And since he started using it, his teeth don't bother him, and I notice that his teeth are whiter now (he is NOW an ex-smoker, so it's just getting better every day, though I still did notice the change while he was smoking). I like this toothpaste because my teeth actually feel clean almost all day long. The other brand I was using actually even made me wonder if it was cleaning my teeth, or just made foam for the heck of it. So now I've got to buy my own tube to put in my bathroom.

After having a painful teeth cleaning, I wanted to try Colgate Sensitive Toothpaste. I was very disappointed. The toothpaste did not help my sensitive teeth that much, but to my horror, my lips broke out in a painful rash because of the active ingredient: 5% potassium nitrate. I've since found out that potassium nitrate is a known irritant to the skin, and if it comes in contact with skin, one is to flush immediately with water. My advice: stay away from this toothpaste.

I love buying my items from Drug Store.com as I get them cheaper, most of the time, and free shipping and no State Tax and the best thing.....I don't have to leave the house! Terrific during winter months and all year round.

I have used other "sensitive" toothpastes which come highly recommended by dentists; however, I do not like the taste or clean teeth feeling with those other products. The Colgate Sensitive Whitening gives my teeth the sensitivity protection they so badly need and makes my teeth feel extra clean and deodorized.

I use to have sensitive teeth especially after having my braces. This product helped eliminate sensitivity over time. I love it and can't go without it anymore. I noticed when I ran out and went back to another brand my teeth became sensitive again after a few weeks. I hope this stuff never goes away.

My teeth are noticeably whiter after using this! I used to use the whitening toothpastes that seem to be oh-so-popular these days, but they were too abrasive and caused my gums and teeth to become really sensitive. They didn't used to be! So I switched to this, hoping to remedy the sensitivity. And it did! Plus my teeth are just as white.

After having my oral hygienist tell me to stay clear of whitening toothpastes as those would exacerbate my teeth's sensitivity, I was surprised to find a product that promised to do both. I used it for two months. Results: whiter teeth and no sensitivity. And I am somebody who has trouble eating ice cream or very hot things, sometimes even sweet things. Since using Colgate Sensitive Maximum Strength Whitening Toothpaste, I like my smile again, and I like ice cream too. One thing to be mindful of is the active ingredient with a high amount of potassium. I recently had blood work done and everything was fine except that my potassium was slightly elevated. The doctor said it may be a side effect of the blood drawing technique. It is, however, something to consider if you are somebody who has to watch their potassium levels. I'll probably bring the toothpaste to my next doctor's appointment to ask him if using this toothpaste could be the reason for the potassium levels in my blood and if it's something to cycle off from periodically to avoid accumulation in the blood. I chose the parent tag, but I don't let my kids use this toothpaste. They use a Crest toothpaste for kids over 8 years old that is perfect in flavor and texture and results for them. (3 boys under 12).
Adults and children 12 years of age and older: apply at least a 1-inch strip of the product onto a soft bristle toothbrush. Brush teeth thoroughly for at least 1 minute twice a day (morning and evening) or as recommended by a dentist or physician. Make sure to brush all sensitive areas of the teeth. Children under 12 years: Consult a dentist or physician.
