I use this product at the first sign of a cold, even if I am not sure I have one. The tabs are easier for me to take than using the swabs. It also has to be taken at the first sign of a cold or after the symptoms subside or it won't work. I don't see any effect the first day, but after a good night's sleep, the symptoms are gone.
It works on most colds unless they are particularly strong.
I am prone to colds, so this product has saved me time and stress over the past five years in days of sick leave that I don't need to take.

I love Zicam! I received a sample of these through [...], and I can tell you these really do work great. The chalky taste is not so great, but it is totally worth it as the really do reduce cold/flu symptoms. Take at the first symptoms for them to really do the job.
The minute I feel a cold coming on I start using Zicam. 9 times out of 10 it stops the cold in its tracks. Its imperative to follow instructions to the letter. If you're a little late in starting the treatment, Zicam will significantly lessen the severity and duration of the cold. This product truly does what it claims. Keep it on hand all year long.
With early symptoms of cold or allergic reactions to pollen, I take one of these several times a day, according to the instructions. I alternate with Zicam oral spray, and supplement with Airborne & Emergen-C. With allergies, I am better in 2-3 days. With cold viruses, I feel some relief within a day, but it takes 3-7 days to fight off a cold and feel like myself again.
I woke up this morning with a stuffy nose and shortly after came the sneezes. I immediately put a rapid melt on my tongue and let it dissolve. I personally like the flavor, texture and super fast melt. It does have a somewhat dry and fluffy feel on the tongue but for me leaves no aftertaste. I'm confident my potential cold will either have minimal symptoms or none at all. Will definitely keep this on hand!

I use Zicam Rapidmelts at the first sign of a cold and take them thru out the time I have a cold....my symptoms seem so less severe then my co-workers ( who gave me a cold!!)
They melt easliy and fast once in your mouth...and I haven't had any problems with them at all and they seem to work for me to control the symptoms of a cold.
For best results, use at the first sign of a cold and continue to use until symptoms completely subside.
Adults and children 12 years of age and older:
Take one tablet at the onset of symptoms
Dissolve entire tablet at the onset of symptoms
Repeat every three hours until symptoms are gone
To avoid minor stomach upset, do not take on an empty stomach
Do not eat or drink for 15 minutes after use. Do not eat or drink citrus fruits or juices for 30 minutes before or after use. Otherwise, drink plenty of fluids.
Children under 12 years of age: Consult a doctor before use.
