Finally tried this product and love it as "finisher" when cleaning face, and freshener. It feels great--mild and gentle. NO drying effect and NO unpleasant smell whatsoever! Disagree with comments about an odor---try this good old favorite--it's worth it.

The first time I smelt this ai genuinely thought I was going to throw up but after a day or so that went away and I'm really glad because there has been a huge difference in my skin. I mix a few drops with my moisturizer twice a day and haven't had a pimple yet.

I have been using this product as an astringent since my teen-age years. Sometimes, simple is simply better. Every so often I am lured into buying the skin care product that's currently the "hot" ticket to achieve great-looking skin. I always finish using those products with lackluster results. I like Dickinson's Witch Hazel because it works--it's good for your skin and you don't have to take a second mortgage out to purchase it. I even have MY daughter converted to using it now! Not only is it an effective astringent, but it's a good first-aid treatment in certain instances, such as mosquito bite-relief, sunburn relief, poison ivy relief (mild cases!), even...bad breath relief! It's good for the scalp after shampooing and conditioning to leave your hair and scalp feeling fresh and clean. Absolutely LOVE this stuff - and in this case, brand name does matter!

My family and I think this is a great product and has many uses for the skin. I have no cons about this product and it is gentle on the skin. I highly recommend it.

Maybe if you've never smelled 100% witch hazel before, you would take the time to say how bad it smells in a review online. This witch hazel works wonderfully and it's scent is that mildly unpleasant witch hazel smell. But to me, it's unpleasant like cheese. It might smell bad if you put it practically inside your nose, but upon it's intended use, the pros will always outweigh the cons. I'm a second time 8 months pregnant mom and I'm using it for hemorrhoids. It works great when you soak a cotton round with it and put it in your butt crack. Just wear a pad to catch the drips, unless you like wet pants.
