It was okay. I used it last night and it didn't streak or look fake or anything, but the color was only a little different than the night before. I guess I'll use it tonight and see if it deepens any. I used it about a month ago to for my formal dance and it worked very well, maybe it was because I was just really pale so I saw a big difference.

One of the better self-tanners I've tried. Just like all the others you have to really rub it in evenly and quickly and avoid dry areas and knees and elbows. After a few tries I mastered the art of applying it and now use it every 3-4 days to keep a nice, natural looking tan year round. It doesn't smell as bad as others I've used and dries faster than most. A good product for the price.

Much better then the old spray-pump self tanner that Neutrogena had several years ago. It has a pleasant smell, not chemical-y. I like that it lets you gradually build up so if there are problem areas they aren't that noticeable. It does get a little streaky, but nothing too obvious.

Okay, it does streak very easily. I gave it a 4 because I've found that applying moisturizer immediately after putting any fake tan on eliminates the dreaded streaking. Since I don't leave the house without sunscreen on, this isn't an inconvenience for me. And I REALLY love the fact that it doesn't stink. I hate that fake tan smell. I used Jergen's Natural Glow -- that stuff is awesome. No streaking at all, nice healthy color. But as the color develops, that gross fake tan smell comes up. if you don't mind the smell go with the Jergen's, but if you don't mind the extra step of applying moisturizer afterwards, this is a nice inexpensive option. I'm happy! :)

I love this stuff. It doesn't smell nearly as bad or as strong as other self-tanners that I've tried (and I've tried a LOT of them). The color is very light if you only apply it once, but I use it once each day instead of lotion on my legs, and they have developed a pretty natural light tan. I don't find it to be orange-tinted at all, but it can build up on dryer areas of the body such as feet - I use a scrub to even out those areas. Overall, I recommend this -- it has a good price, and I've been very pleased with the results.

I would only recommend this product if you already have med-dark skin, and you are very, very careful. Otherwise, don't waste your money. Pros: 1. Good color for my ghostly pale skin, after just one application. Cons: 1. STREAKING! After one very careful application, I have lines on my arms and legs! After a second application the lines are still visible. 2. Not "build-a-tan" for pale skin. Insta-tan. So if you mess up, it's obvious. 3. Sticky feeling, even after 8 hours of sleep. I can't wait to shower this stuff off. 4. Orange palms. I applied lotion to my hands first as a precaution, and washed them with soap and water twice during and after application, and I still have stained hands. 5. Smell is very strong.

The color is not too orange-fake, but there is an edge to it, and I had really weird streaking problems on my arms even though I exfoliated with the scrub, and rubbed in the tanner really well. It looks like I missed half my arm! The first application is really light, and then by the second application you're tan. I gave it two stars because it streaks, the color is a bit off, and it smells.

The product didn't smell bad, but left me with a streaky orange color.

I'm fair skinned with pink undertones. This BARELY gives color to my arms and legs and gives me ZERO color on my face (oily complexion). I've tried it over and over again, always with the same abysmal results.

Overall, I am pretty happy with the Build a Tan product. The color is a good "real tan" color...not orangey, at least on my skin. Also, the color fades very well and doesn't get splotchy while fading. I am very fair skinned and I noticed that I was very dark after the first application. There was no way I could have applied another one. Also, since it isn't tinted, I did end up a bit streaky, even though I consider myself a pretty seasoned pro of self tanners. I found a good solution though, in order to lighten it up a little, and lessen the chance of streaking: when I apply, I use 1/2 self tanner and mix it with 1/2 lotion. When I do this, I am a lot less streaky and if I do streak a little, it's not so dark, so it's not so noticeable. I did two applications like this, and I think it ended up a lot better (although the same color) as if I had done one regular application. Good luck!
