It does work...

For those that say this hasn't worked--check with your vet. I have lived in central VA and now north FL, both places with lots of heat and humidity, spring through fall. I have had my docs tell me that it is okay to use the product up to every 2 weeks (my experience with Frontline as well). During exceptionally hot and humid, fleas thrive and once a month treatment just won't work. I've had to do it for both of my small dogs (<25 lbs) for years now without any harmful side effects. Hope this helps

Advantix has been the most effective product I have ever used for fleas. My dog had a hundred plus fleas on her 24 hours a day prior to using the product. Afterwards most of the fleas were gone within 12 hours and within 24 hours all of them were gone. It has been about a month since I used the product and only now I see just one or two fleas a week on my pet. Overall Advantix has been the best product for removing fleas that I have ever seen. I would highly recommend it for anyone with current flea problems or as a preventive.

Since I live in a tick infested hilly area I need to use this product, but noticed that it didn't sink into my dog's skin very easily, just glopped and greased her fur a couple of hours later. I had better luck using less of the product and in more than one spot on her back. Frontline is less greasy, doesn't cause the irritation and absorbs better but is less effective, as it doesn't repel the bugs. The Advantix does cause her to itch the treated skin a few days after, so I bathed her on the third or fourth day after treatment with Virbac shampoo. It is soothing and will not wash off treatment. I was advised from a Bayer (maker of Advantix) spokesperson that a bath would remedy the irritation with this (soap free) shampoo. Advantix does work.

When we first got our dog, we used Frontline because it was the only product available at our vet's office, but we quickly learned that it was NOT effective for our dog. Then we switched over to Advantix and saw a drastic difference... we haven't seen a tick on him on years and the fleas are now gone (thank goodness, what a nightmare). It is a little more costly, but in the end, it's a worthwhile investment for us to keep the house flea/tick-free and our dog healthy.

I have 5 dogs! I used Frontline for years. This year it stopped working! The vet said that up to 30% of dogs develop an immunity to it! Who would've thought? So, I switched to Advantix and what a difference! It costs more, but it's worth it!!!!

I've used Advantix on all three of our dogs for years. It's been perfect, especially for mosquitoes. You have to apply it to the skin, not the fur and don't bathe them for 2-3 days afterward and be sure to apply it monthly, as recommended. I've used other products, and they all fell short in one or more claims. The money I saved wasn't worth it.

We have been using Advantix for several years. Our dogs have long hair/thick undercoats and this product was one of the few that worked 100%. It is important to apply the product directly to the skin at the base of the fur, and not on top of the coat. The instructions recommend this product not be applied directly before or after baths. We have the best results bathing the dogs 2-3 days after application. When used as directed, this is an exceptional product.
