I first used the DiabetiSweet white sugar substitute and was very, very happy with it. The box said to try the DiabetiSweet Brown Sugar substitute but that isn't available in any of the grocery stores that I frequent. So I ordered it from Drugstore.com and have been extremely happy with it. I've not baked with it; mostly use it on squash and oatmeal. Also melted it with Smart Balance and lemon juice for a glaze on salmon - works yummy but may not be as "glazey" as with real brown sugar. All in all, you won't feel deprived when using this product. No aftertaste and no glycemic response (says so on the box but haven't tested that myself, though). I'm ordering more!

I use DiabetiSweet Brown sugar as a substitute for brown sugar when I am making a recipe that calls for brown sugar. It tastes the same, except I find that it's a little sweeter, so you have to be careful and taste what you are making so that you don't use too much or the taste will not be right. However, if you use the correct amount (to your taste) it's a wonderful product & you won't believe that you aren't eating the real thing!

I am not diabetic but I LOVE this 'sugar'. This product is relatively expensive but worth every dime. It tastes like brown sugar when you use it in such things as oatmeal or other cereals. It does not have that packing consistancy that real brown sugar has, but if you're not using it for thickening (such as for Banana's Foster sauce and the like) it's really great. It feels granular like real sugar. With NO glycemic response, it is a highly desirable product for anyone looking to improve their health and blood sugar, including diabetics. NOTE: Real sugar is the enemy! The minute you introduce sugar into your body it is processed and if not burned off immediately...it gets stored as FAT! So choose your sweets wisely. Diabetisweet is a WISE choice!

I have been using this product for about a year; it is the best brown sugar substitute I have ever tried. I use it to cook and in the raw form and have never been disappointed with the results or the taste. I used to purchase DiabetiSweet at Wal-Mart but they no longer carry it I was so happy to find this site to order it. I hope they never stop making it.
