Best advice is to immediately soak those pots or pans in very hot water and then when ready to clean, using the Dobie with some detergent to take all the stains off. These last for quite a while and you can tell when they need to be replaced. I always use this first before using a harsher pad on my pots/pans. Very economical too. Was this review helpful? Comments about Scotch-Brite Dobie Cleaning Pad, 3 ea: I couldn't do without Dobie pads. For one thing, when cleaning nonstick cookware, they don't scratch -- so a little dishwashing liquid, hot water and a Dobie pad gets my T-Fal skillet, greasy after frying eggs, clean as a whistle. It's also great in my kitchen sink with Bon Ami scouring powder or Barkeeper's Friend, which gets the sink totally clean. Sometimes, there's something on my laminate kitchen countertop that's stuck on and a paper towel with Method cleaning spray or Windex All Surface Antibacterial spray isn't doing the job -- that same cleaning spray with the Dobie pad dislodges whatever the stuck-on stuff is. I use an old and slightly worn-out Dobie pad for the same purpose on my kitchen floor -- sometimes there are spots here and there that a plain mop won't remove, and the knit monofilament nylon cover of a Dobie pad (even one with a hole in it here and there) takes are of the problem on the vinyl kitchen floor. I use one in my white porcelain bathroom sink with Comet cleanser (or the equivalent), which has chlorine bleach in it for killing germs and whitening -- sometimes, there, dried on hair styling gel will be stuck on the side of the sink and the Dobie pad removes that, too. It's even useful on the white porcelain top of my stove with some of that cleaning spray I mentioned above. Every now and then, before I put a plate in the dishwasher, there may be something stubborn stuck on it (such as egg yolk from fried eggs) that I know the dishwasher won't remove, and the Dobie is good for that, too, with a little dishwashing liquid. For conventional pots and pans, such as the saucepan I use to cook steel-cut oats, most of the time the Dobie with some dishwashing liquid gets the job done -- great for removing the sticky residue from cooked oats or the white film from steamed rice out of the saucepan. It never scratches. This is one of the most useful products ever, and it's not expensive. If I had to do without Dobie pads in the house (one in the kitchen, one in the bathroom, an old one under the kitchen sink for use on the floor), I'd be realy annoyed. Comments about Scotch-Brite Dobie Cleaning Pad, 3 ea: I'm so glad to have found this product. I'll buy multiple packs at a time if it's on sale. After having using these, I could never go to anything else for washing my dishes. I don't have to scrub hard, lasts for about a month--just toss and grab a new one! Quality product at a reasonable price--can't get better than that!

Comments about Scotch-Brite Dobie Cleaning Pad, 3 ea: I've been using these sponges for years, and have them in my bathroom and kitchen. They scrub well without scratching surfaces. My only issue is that they wear out very fast - holes/tears happen very easily - so they need to be replaced often. Otherwise, these are the best out there.
