Yes, this shampoo has a strong odor. Fresh and clean, but medicinal. However, the scent goes away once your hair dries and that is the only con for this product. I've tried many natural shampoos and conditioners, and most of them either stripped my hair or left heavy buildup. BWC shampoo and conditioner make my hair soft and easy to style, without being greasy. They definitely stand up to salon brands in quality. The shampoo also lathers easily, which means you don't have to use as much, making this fairly economical.

I have thick, long (past my shoulders) hair, and this along with its conditioner has been the best combination I've used thus far. It makes my hair soft without irritating my scalp (something I've had a problem with in the past), and the conditioner acts as an excellent shaving cream. My hair has never felt better. The only cons are the smell, and the fact that it doesn't really do much for my frizzy hair once it dries. But if you're like me, the benefits far outweigh the smell (which by the way goes away after it dries). And I might just have to get a different product for my frizz anyway, no matter what shampoo/conditioner I use. But for me, the strong smell (chamomile) is a lot better than any chemical smell, so it's worth it. I'd recommend this to anyone whose hair is starving for moisture, and who've tried everything possible.

I am amazed at how gentle this line of products is for super sensitive types. I think people complaining that this shampoo did not cleanse enough or smooth enough are missing the point only because the whole idea of this product design is it is to be very gentle (non-oil stripping) and does not contain harmful chemicals (that are normally added to hair products designed to "shine" the hair). That being said, one can always add these shining/smoothing styling products one out of the shower so it does not contact your skin, rather just the hair. I like Weleda hair oil, Kerastase Oleo Relax for shining. As an Optometrist, I and others in my profession have typically prescribed FDA approved products to cleanse the eyes (as eye makeup removal or treatment of eye infections), but after discovering BWC Shampoo, I have gone "off label" and began prescribing this product instead to cleanse eyes. Being very sensitive myself, this has actually been the best product I have ever used for cleansing all my sensitive body parts. I recommend this to even my most sensitive patients needing a good cleanser for the shower.

I have just used this shampoo for the first time, and I'm a new fan! I have long, thick, curly/wavy hair and have always had a problem finding a shampoo that's moisturizing enough but not too much so my hair gets greasy. I wash my hair every 3 days, so this is an important factor for me... This is it! I used the shampoo after a costume party on very teased hair with loads of hairspray, so it was dry and brittle (think brillo pad) hair, and my hair came out feeling clean, shiny, soft and healthy afterwards. The woodsy scent was a bit strong while the hair was wet, but mellowed when it dried. I also wanted to order the extra moisture conditioner but it's currently out of stock, however I used it with my old stuff (Pantene Ice) and the BWC leave-in conditioner, which I also loved. I'm on the wait list for the conditioner and can't wait to try that as well!

I love that it is all organic and made from good ingredients, it leaves your hair very soft, the smell could be better, but is not annoying and it has a good price, I won't use anything else.

I adore this brand since they don't test on animals & isn't loaded with junk. This Moisture Plus shampoo is absolutely heavenly; leaves my hair super soft, clean & shiny, and it's never looked healthier actually! I happen to love the scent; the essential oils smell intoxicating, earthy, exotic, sensual and soothing. Whenever I use this along with the Moisture Plus conditioner, I feel transported to a spa or mystical oasis without ever leaving home! My husband loves the scent too! If you are a natural earth girl who likes essential oils & care about what you put on your body then I'd recommend giving this a try!
