Bottom Line: not recommended

I have eczema and very sensitive skin and was looking for a body cream that I could put on after a shower. I love Aveeno products, but after I covered myself in this cream, I developed a massive red bumpy rash -- all over my arms, legs, stomach, back, thighs. I looked like I'd rolled around in poison oak. Guess I should've tested a small spot first! Anyway, the product also felt grainy and sticky on my skin. Totally awful, awful experience. I know other reviewers have remarked how well it works, but remember that each person can have a totally different reaction to a product. I'd try a sample first before spending this much money.

My children and I were in need of moisturizers and I thought that I would give Aveeno a try for the first time. I bought a few Aveeno products including this one. I opened it and I could smell the menthol. It was not too strong but I think of menthol as a manly fragrance. So I was ready to return it; however, after a bath I realized that I did not have a moisturizer and that is why I had bought this in the first place, so I decided to give it a try. Once I scooped this really thick cream out of the tub I could smell the oats and the cocoa which I love. Even though the cream was very thick it was very easy to apply, I enjoyed applying this and it made my skin extremely soft!!! The scent of menthol, oats and cocoa is heavenly... even thought the menthol scent does fade after a few minutes. The other scents stay on your skin for hours and the cream leaves your skin baby soft for hours as well. My skin glows!!! I am sold. This will be my everyday moisturizer after a bath or shower!!!

The ONLY lotion/cream I use in the winter. This is the best heavy cream for dry skin problems I have found and it isn't greasy.

I have literally cried about this product, and what a God-send it really is!!! My daughter is 3 years old and has had moderate eczema since she was 3 months old. Her skin was so dry and scratched sometimes 2 layers under her top skin layer. I have been to so many doctors and specialists, but nothing they gave me really worked. I have been using this for a week now and my skin has shown drastic improvement. I was recovering from a severe case of dermatitis, when I got a sample from the doctor's office. I bought this once I ran out of my regular Palmer's and I have to say it is not as greasy as Palmer's and I am not flaky and dry by the end of the day as with the other product. I am now on my second jar and my skin couldn't be happier. Your skin will be moist all day!!!

This is the best for dry skin out there. I've tried fancy department store brands, and every drugstore brand that exists, but this is the only one that actually makes my skin feel better. There is a menthol smell at first, but it disappears completely about 10 minutes after you've put it on. I wish they could make it smell like the oatmeal cookie scent the regular lotion has, but I think the menthol has something to do with the soothing properties of the cream. Good stuff!

This is great for a healing tattoo. The oatmeal stops the itching, and it's a medicinal cream as opposed to a semi smelly one.

This stuff is so GREAT! My legs are always dry and itchy from shaving and this is the only lotion that keeps them soft and comfortable all day. I personally don't think it has much of a smell at all and the way it makes my skin feel is unparalleled. I think the menthol is part of what helps my skin to not feel itchy, in fact. I've used many expensive lotions, but I always come back to this one.

I've got THE driest skin on my legs (thanks, dad!) that gets the texture of snake scales even in the most humid days of summer. Over the years, I've tried EVERYTHING and my legs remained dry the very next day. Then on a whim, I gave this big jar a try. I put some on after my shower in the evening, rushed off to work the next day, got home from work and after dinner. AND my legs were still soft and moisturized! At the risk of sounding dramatic; I'm SAVED! LOVE the product, LOVE the smell, and LOVE the price. No more spending money on expensive stuff that dont exactly work! Thanks Aveeno!

This stuff is FABULOUS!!! My skin, especially my hands, legs and feet, were so dry they were cracking. I heard about this cream on the news and promptly went out and bought it. What a difference! My chapped, burning, cracking dry skin is getting softer, smoother and is healing. Even after washing my hands, the softness remains. As for the fragrance, yes, when you first smooth it on your skin it does have a slight menthol scent, but it quickly dissipates and then there is no scent at all. It certainly does not smell like Ben-Gay. I would recommend this product to anyone with severely dry skin. You won't be disappointed!
