Is it as good as they claim? There's no doubt. Hard-to-find Rosebud Salve is considered the gold-standard of lip balms -- even jaded Beauty Editors (we're just one example) go crazy for it. Soft, supple, and slightly rose-scented lips result with every use.

First Prepared by a Druggist in 1892 - New Package Adopted in 1962 A Reliable Family Salve
Since 1895, this world-famous salve has been lauded by fashion magazines, make-up artists, and celebrities as their number one preferred lip balm. In addition to being a wonderful lip moisturizer, natural-looking lip gloss and lipstick base, it is still a family favorite to aid in the relief of chapped and dry skin, blemishes, diaper rash, and detergent burns.
This is the original and only Rosebud Salve.

I've wanted to try this product for a loooooong time, and finally just saw it again on here, so I ordered it. I know... very exciting tale. Anyway, gorgeous tin; the balm smells great, if you like roses, that is (I do); and then I go to use it. I don't know about you, but I don't like to stick my fingers into my balms unless it's some "balm emergency". I'll use my lips until I can no longer get at it that way. So I did so with this product, very lightly, and ended up with goop EVERYWHERE. This stuff is SOFT and SMOOSHY beyond belief. What a mess. But now I know. APPROACH WITH CAUTION!!! Store this somewhere cool. It's worth the extra measures because it is awesome. There's a reason people have been buying it since 1892! It's perfection in a pretty tin. It's hyper-lightweight, but stays on. It's flavor/scent are very light, but soooooo nice. And chapping? Buh bye... in ONE use. How's that? Granted, it was light chapping, but still... This is definitely a buy-again. Even with the smoosh-factor. :)

I was so excited to get this because (like a fool) I wanted to use what the stars use. So lame! This product smells nice but tastes like glycerin. I have very dry lips and this did not penetrate or heal. In fact it felt like my lips were getting drier the more I used it! This might be better for someone who does not have sensitive lips. The only reason I gave it two stars instead of one is because I use it on my cuticles (though it does leave my hands oily). I prefer Sally Hansen Lip Butter hands down!

I order a year's supply of Rosebud Salve when my tax refund arrives. I spend a lot of time outdoors as part of my job, and this salve helps my lips and hands feel better. Plus, a little goes a long way.
Comments about Rosebud Perfume Co. Smith's Rosebud Salve, .8 oz:
I have super dry lips, and it's not because of not enough water intake or anything else, my lips are just super dry, and even if I'm wearing lip balms they can get chapped.
This product is so amazing, I'm never buying any other lip balm again! It has kept my lips feeling great during the whole winter, I just wear it for everything now. Once the balms I have in my purse and school bag are over I will purchase more of these in the tube version which is more travel-friendly.

Comments about Rosebud Perfume Co. Smith's Rosebud Salve, .8 oz:
This product has healed my dry lips (one spot I kept biting). The moisturizing properties last throughout the day. It has a light, pleasant scent and taste. I use this salve to condition my cuticles. The only complaint I have is that I have great difficulty opening the tin. The tin is cute, but impracticable. I will, however, continue to purchase this item.
Comments about Rosebud Perfume Co. Smith's Rosebud Salve, .8 oz:
Not much to say about Rosebud Salve that hasn't been said already. It is a simple product but it deserves all the hype. I have used it everyday for at least a decade. My beauty routine is simple: little to no makeup and this gloss. When I do buy makeup I buy the good stuff. I am not a lipstick girl but do experiment with colored glosses sometimes. Even when I use them and throw them in my bag I end up applying this midday instead. It doesn't provide much color payoff but it does make your lips look better - healthy and shiny and slightly rosy. It goes on smooth (not sticky), moisturizes a ton and lasts a long time. I've also used it as a salve on my cuticles, knuckles, elbows and knees.
I've tried other Smith's salves: Strawberry, Minted Rose and the tube version of rose but do prefer this one. I buy the mentholated salve for my husband and he uses it regularly.

My mother introduced me to Rosebud Salve when I was a child, and I have loved it ever since. It is the only thing that has worked on my severely chapped lips.

Comments about Rosebud Perfume Co. Smith's Rosebud Salve, .8 oz:
Rosebud Salve is an okay product, I don't get why it's being touted as something special. I was looking forward to a pleasing scent! It has a faint dead roses smell and while the product is nicely moisturizing, it's an inconvenient package. While I'm not displeased with its performance, I probably won't buy it again.
Comments about Rosebud Perfume Co. Smith's Rosebud Salve, .8 oz:
The only thing that isn't great about Rosebud Salve is the container;it's a bit difficult to open. Other than that, this is a fantastic, hydrating lip balm. It's sooo good I don't even want them to tweak the container! Who would have thought that lip balm could be so hydrating?!
Outline lips with lip liner of you choice about 1/4 inches from the outside of your lips toward the center. Then use a lip brush to blend the salve to achieve a "pouty look".
Use Rosebud Salve alone or over your favorite hue of lipstick to moisturize and give a "dewy effect".
Apply Rosebud Salve to eyebrows to tame an unruly brow line while also giving sheen.
Rosebud Salve is great on fly-away or frizzy hair. Dab a small amount on the palms of your hands and apply sparingly to tresses.
Use Rosebud Salve as a subtle accent to cheek bones, collar bones, shoulders, or any other body part that you want to moisturize or enhance.
Apply rosebud Salve lightly to the skin above the eye as a base for powered eye shadow, and then add the desired colors you wish to dazzle your eyes with. The rich emollient properties of the Salve will help to hold that look all day.
