Smith's mentholated salve was prepared by the same druggist, G.F. Smith, who perfected Rosebud Salve. The mentholated salve is a cooling salve designed to soothe minor skin irritations, especially those associated with colds, allergies, minor burns, and insects stings. (G.F.'s youngest daughter, Millie, always said that father insisted this was the best relief for the sore-red-dry-itchy nose caused by a cold)

Love this in the winter!

This is a must have for me in the winter. My nose dries out and gets so sore in cold weather. Putting this salve in my nose and on my lips keeps both in good shape. I like the tin it comes in and won't be without it.

Put it on before bed and you will wake up with smooth, soft, healed lips. I use it whenever my lips feel dry and it really works to soothe the chapping. I love it!

I am very prone to cold stores as soon as the weather changes. I find that using this salve heals these sores extremely well. It cools, soothes and moisturizes pretty well. It is also a very good as a cuticle softener. You just can't go wrong with this salve.

This is a great product to have on hand to treat your sore nose when you have a cold. I have bad allergies and my skin gets really sore from sneezing. This product soothes and heals better then anything else I have tried. It is great for chapped lips.

I like the not-girly packaging of this compared to the other Smith's salves. Love the cooling feel. And I really believe in the 'medical' uses - recently had a fall and got scraped up on the face. This helped it heal a lot faster.

I love this. It goes on so smooth and it's like vapo-rub for your lips. It feels so fresh, and I use it every night before I go to bed. It keeps my lips moisturized all night and has a nice sheen for daytime too. If you like minty stuff (like me) you should get this. The strawberry is great too.

I totally love this. It's just a little less greasy than straight petroleum jelly, which only means it doesn't slide all over your lips, yet it is more than soft enough to adequately moisturize. I have also used it on very dry, scaly patches on my skin to decent results. It is medicated, which may give sensitive skin some problems.
