I've literally been using this stuff for at least 10 years. I use it as a cover-up on my forehead (I have bangs) because my skin is so oily and I perspire and break out most often on my forehead. It's tinted to cover up problem areas, and dries out pimples very effectively.

If I could, I would give Acnomel 4 1/2 stars. It has been more effective for my acne than benzoyl peroxide and salicylic acid products. I am 34, and have always had oily, acne-prone skin. Other products dry my skin out, and make it flaky, which feels awful and looks worse. Acnomel is thick and tinted. It spreads better if you add a drop of water. I wash my face with an antibacterial cleanser, use an oil free moisturizer (Kiss My Face Alpha and Aloe), then apply the Acnomel. It doesn't dry me out this way, and is very effective in reducing the severity and duration of my breakouts. But I still have breakouts - so it's not a miracle cure. It's just a very good treatment!

Love this cream. It's a bit thick and grainy going on, but it really works. I have adult acne, with small pimples and large cysts. I also just get these small bumps on the sides of my face, but after a couple weeks of use, these have completely cleared up. I could see where this might be a little too drying for some, my suggestion is to first cleanse with a moisturizing cleasner like Cetaphil. It's really been a lifesaver for me.

I love this product. The sulfur dries the infection up, 1-2-3. Wear it to bed and your spot is gone in the morning...amazing!

Originally my dermatologist prescribed prescription sulfacetamide (10%), but when I found Actnomel worked as well as the prescription medicine, I started using it instead. It stops the itching I get with an outbreak, and dries my skin less. It's also one of the few products I've seen that DOES NOT contain salicylic acid, which is not effective for me. For anyone who wishes to try this product, be aware that just as with sulfacetamide, it needs to be used on a daily basis for a week or two before real acne prevention sets in, and it's NOT for everyone. But it might be for you.

I am not sure what to rate this. I only used it for three days and had no results. The reason why I stopped using it is because it severely dried out my skin. Also, I am African American and I started to see faint brown spots wherever I applied it, and the spots would not wash off. So I had to wear a lot more makeup than usual until my skin tone evened out a bit.

I am 44, and have had oily skin since I was 12. I use this instead of a foundation, and it creates a matte finish which I use only on the T zone of my face. I have not found ANY foundation that works better to prevent shine and breakouts.

This product does absolutely nothing! It's like a cover up. And it dries up and makes your face tight. Don't recommend this by far.

I have used this product for 20 years. I had acne so bad. My face is perfectly clear. People always comment how beautiful my skin is. If they only knew the before. I have never had the drying effect, because after your face clears up,you can use occasionally. I introduced it to a doctor who now recommends it instead of the medications they use to use. He was amazed, and his patients were too. Some people may have a different reaction, but for the majority, it's amazing.

Worthless product. I used a thin layer on my forehead because I was breaking out there. The next day, my forehead is itchy, red and a little inflamed. If you're going to use this, I guess you should just spot treat or you might have a reaction like I did.
