I have used this stuff for years and swear by it. Unfortunately, I am prone to cold sores. When I feel the "tingling" of one coming on, I massage some of this product into the affected area, often followed by a little Abreva. That 2-part treatment almost ALWAYS stops the sore from blistering, although the area may still feel a little tender for a day or two. I have tried everything, including prescriptions, and this plus Abreva is 90%+ effective for me.

I have tried many products for cold sores and blister and pevention of cold sores and blisters, and this is undeniably the most effective for me.

My 6 year old daughter has suffered from cold sores for years, but they got worse after she started school. Any sort of chill, lack of sleep, any sort of stress - obvious or not - would bring on a cold sore in the same spot. I'm so glad I found this product for her. If she applies it when she just starts to feel one develop, often this ointment will completely prevent the cold sore from coming out at all. If we don't catch it early, this product still reduces the severity and speeds healing time very, very significantly. You should be aware this product also comes in a tube that contains 3 times as much. 21 grams (.75 oz) instead of 7g (.25 oz).

This stuff immediately reduces pain from canker sores- it really clings inside the mouth, leaves no unpleasamt taste, sarts workingimmediately. In some cases you can clear up the problem overnight.

I use this product when I start to feel a cold sore coming. I keep applying it through out the first couple of days and the cold sore goes away.

I have used several different cold sore treatments (Abreva, Releeve, etc.) and this one is my favorite. I used Releeve once and it didn't help me at all. I used Abreva for a while and it worked fine, but it's more expensive. SuperLysine heals cold sores fast and is not as visible as Abreva (white). It's a little shiny so it looks like I have a lip gloss. I apply it to my cold sore several times a day. I also use Super Lysine ColdStick every day to prevent cold sores.

I can't share any of the other good reviews. I applied this at the first sign of a cold sore coming on, just like I would do with the other product. Not only did it not prevent the sore from developing, it aggravated it so much that it turned extremely nasty, developed into full bloom, broke open, turned bloody (you get the picture...) and took 10 days to heal. Not much fun being in public with that dried-up thingy on my lip! So... do not buy this product - don't take the risk!

This stuff is AMAZING. I've used everything out there and this is the BEST! Just as good as Valtrex without making me feel weird.

This stuff ROCKS! My hubby and I both get cold sores that break out anywhere on our faces; around our noses, on our chins, cheeks, lips - even in my eyebrows! They get large and swollen, blistery, and hurt like the dickens (after the initial itch that tells us they're coming.)When the blisters break, a crust forms, skin cracks - ugh, it's awful. This cream, when applied liberally and consistently at the first signs of a breakout, really keeps the break outs in check. Neither of us gets the swelling or blistering we used to. In my case, this beats Valtrex, which I used to take orally to reduce the duration of a break out. Much happier with this treatment, as it works faster, and doesn't give me a headache, which was a side effect of the Valtrex for me. (Hubby never took Valtrex, so I can't report a comparison for him.)
