I have just completed my first canister of Bi-O-Kleen Automatic Dish Powder, so my experience is approximately 64 usage occasions.
Overall this product is outstanding, and I now consider myself committed to this brand. I happen to own an Energy Star-rated Bosch dishwasher that uses relatively little water. Just one level tablespoon of Bi-O-Kleen is all it takes to handle a full load. The cleaning efficacy has been consistently excellent with a shiny lustre left behind on glasses, stainless, porcelain, clear plastic and Corelle surfaces.
I recently have elected to incorporate environmentally-friendly products throughout my household regimen. So I appreciate that Bi-O-Kleen is phosphate-free and made of natural ingredients.
Other advantages are this product's low price, relative to other "green" and mainstream dishwasher detergents, and the fact that the Bi-O-Kleen product line is manufactured in the U.S.A.
I was so satisfied with Automatic Dish Powder that I am currently trying some of Bi-O-Kleen's laundry products and will be reviewing them in the near future.

This is the best natural dishwashing detergent I have tried, and it is effective enough that I will keep using it. With that said, it still misses the mark - it leaves a residue (and I use Seventh Generation rinse-aid and have a Bosch dishwasher) and sometimes some of the dishes just don't get clean. Also, the dishes need to be rinsed beforehand. Nevertheless, it's the best one I've found and will stick with it for the environmental and chemical-free benefits.

I have been using this product for years. It has no harsh chemicals and does not emit toxic fumes. I use Biokleen products for all my cleaning and have never been disappointed.

We recently moved from out of state and are currently renting a home that has a 30-year old dishwasher - this was our sacrifice for being in a place that is not only riverfront but also salmon-spawning. In the decrepit old dishwashing beast, the Biokleen did a remarkable job. Absolutely everything came out squeaky clean and, to me, that was the ultimate test. I am now willing to try all their products based entirely on this stuff.

I tried this once on a recommendation looking for something decent for the incredibly awful water we have. Nothing seemed to work. This has been the only dishwasher detergent that works for us. I do need to rinse first, but my dishwasher is also incredibly old and not particularly good. It even gets my pots clean. I liked it so much after the first bottle that when I needed more I just ordered enough to get free shipping.
Scrape excess food from dishes, no need to pre-wash. Load dishes into dishwasher according to manufacturer instructions. Never crowd dishes. Add 1/2 tbs. to each soap cup or 1 tbs if you have only 1 soap cup. Note: Some hard water conditions may require more soap.
