My ophthalmologist recommended the lutein formula (not this one), citing a study that shows a link between lung cancer & AREDS in people who are or have been smokers. Otherwise, a 5-star product.

I began taking this product when I developed macular degeneration leakage, which was treated with Macugen and then three injections of Avastin. My last Avastin injection was over a year ago. The damage in my left eye not only stabilized, but my vision improved slightly. My ophthalmologist expressed surprise that everything had stabilized and had not spread to my right eye, which had shown early signs of macular degeneration in the initial diagnoses. Perhaps it's the combination, but I will certainly continue to take Preservision and have regular checkups with my ophthalmologist.

Very incomplete eye vitamins. TwinLab Ocuguard has much more in it and can help the progression and occurrence of cataract, the #1 cause of blindness. -Aurelio, MD

I have very bad Macular Degeneration in my left eye. I only have about 10% of my peripheral vision left. I am trying to preserve what little I do have left with these vitamins that the doctor reccomended. They so far, and I have been taking them since they first came out, have helped prevent the right eye from becoming like the left. Editor's note: doctor's recommendation is based on customer experience, and have not been independently verified by the drugstore.com website.
