This is a must for fine hair. Without it my bangs would be stuck to my forehead. I had used Garnier fructis style shake effect before, which they have apparently stopped making. This product replaces it.

I like spray gels because of their ease of use, but this wasn't that great. It worked alright to work through wet hair, scrunch a little, and let air dry. But when I used it on my dry hair to smooth out a little frizz and revitalize the curl, it made it sticky and greasy. It doesn't really dry when you use it on dry hair. I found just using one or two pumps total on dry hair made it a little better, but the overspray makes your skin and clothes sticky and look dirty.

I have thin, baby fine, long ringlets, with very wavy hair on the topmost layer. This stuff was sticky, the pump was hard to depress and the bottle got full of the dripping goo, which then slipped and sprayed all over the place. It destroyed my long, natural ringlets and turned them into wild looking masses of tiny waves. It seems to have good hold if you wait until your hair is completley dry, but God help you if you use it on wet hair. I am going back to my Aussie sprunch spray, even though it's getting harder and harder to find.

In my quest to protect my fine, blond hair I am giving the flat iron and heating tools a rest. My hair has a wave to it and can be frizzy. I used this curl gel with a small amount of shine serum and let my hair airdry. It really worked well. I had even curls (more than my natural wave) and no frizz. I have never used a curl gel before and am quite pleased with the results. For under $5 I really had nothing to lose.

You can't beat the wonderful scents of Garnier, because they go on really nice and strong but still linger lightly after they dry. This spray must be more natural in its ingredients because it doesn't cause a reaction in my overly-sensitive nose (Multiple Chemical Sensitivities) like the Wave Curls spray does, which is odd because you'd think Garnier would make all their line pretty much the same, but apparently they don't. I prefer the wavy to the crispy crunch, but since the Wave Curls spray really bothers me, I use this one when my hair is very wet or I spray it in my hand and add water to it to make a lighter serum that I can then apply and comb through so that I can distribute it really really evenly. I think that if you're getting really crunchy curls, then you aren't evenly applying it. Then, when my hair is dry, I run a pick very carefully through any crispy places and the crispiness goes away without becoming fuzzy (if you use a brush or comb, it will get frizzy). The curls will LAST. And there's no glycerin or wheat germ, which my skin is sensitive to. While I prefer a lighter "wave," this product CAN work if you are careful and patient! If you CAN use the Wave Curls, then use it, but if you need a stronger hold or if your nose needs this product, then try adapting it like I do. And it smells very natural.

I have spent a fortune on "professional" and "designer" products for curly hair and they usually leave me looking like a french poodle or worse. This spray gel gives my curls touchable control and shine that gets me complements all the time. I hope they never discontinue it!!!!!!!!!!!!

I have loose corkscrew curls. It is a tad crunchy, but considering the definition it gives my curls, I'm willing to overlook it. Controls frizz well and adds enough volume without making my hair feel "big".

I use this product often. I feel it does a good job of helping to define my naturally curly shoulder-length hair for a good price. It is easy to apply and you don't have to worry about washing hair product off your hands after you spray it on. I recommend being careful where you apply it though (or how well you apply it to your hair) - I notice if I'm a bit messy when I use it in our bedroom with hardwood floors - it gets the floor a little sticky. Maybe I just need to be more careful. Scent is pleasant; and this is a great product for the price.
