I was recommended this face soap YEARS ago by my dermatologist. I have had acne (mild) since I was a teenager and still have breakouts as an adult. I would describe my skin as combination skin now but I breakout still (although only a couple of zits) just about every month right with my cycle. I swear by this soap. It is gentle but effective. Not too drying but not moisturizing. I use moisturizer on the areas that need it AFTER I wash my face. It tends to help keep my skin clearer and removes make-up well. No scent. Lasts a long time (as long as you don't let it sit in water), and easy to hold in my hand (who thought that would be a bonus!). Very gentle, not over drying. Will only use this soap on my face/neck/chest. HIGHLY recommend it.

I use this in the shower as a body bar every day. I have always had problems with extremely sensitive skin. It tolerates NO scent or moisturizing additives.
15 years ago my doctor recommended purpose. I have tried other brands of sensitive skin bars and liquids but they all left my skin irritated. Purpose is the only one for me!

I bought this face bar, because I wanted something simple and gentle as I used my prescription acne cream. It made my skin feel extremely tight, dry, and very uncomfortable. It also broke me out a little bit and I felt like my skin went completely "out of balance" and that it was stripping my skin of all of it's moisture, which is especially bad for acne-prone skin. I would, however, recommend this to people with VERY oily skin without acne, but pair it with a good moisturizer to use immediately after. It's also a very messy soap bar that melts easily and makes a big mess. It's too big and bulky and is inconvenient.

I have always LOVED this product. After years of paying [$] for this, I discovered normal Baby Wash has the exact same ingredients in the exact same order for a fraction of the cost (usually around $2) Sorry Purpose, just a tip for all you users out there. Wonderful product tho.

I had severe acne for many years, and this is what completely cleared it up. All I do is wash my face gently with this soap in the shower every night and put the Purpose dual treatment lotion on afterwards while my skin is still slightly damp. My skin looks awesome now. It used to be so terrible, and I wasted a lot of money on acne washes that only irritated my skin and made my acne worse. Sometimes acne is caused by using harsh products, so if the acne washes aren't working for you, try just using Purpose soap and lotion and nothing else to see if the worsening or cause of your acne is the acne products themselves. Wish someone would have given me this advice when I had problems!

This soap was recommended by my dermatologist many, many years ago because I had a break-out problem. I've been using it FOREVER---every morning and every night to wash off makeup.
It is a bit drying so I follow-up with Kiehl's foaming cleanser.
Now my daughter uses it (followed by Kiehl's cleanser) and has helped clear up minor breakouts.

Recommended to me by my dermatologist when I was a teenager (acne). I'm now almost 40 & still using it. I periodically try other spa / high-end products -- some of which I have liked ok. But, I keep coming back to this as it works well & lasts forever (so it's essentially dirt-cheap -- why pay more if it doesn't do more?). I usually cut the big bar in half to make 2. My skin always feel nice & clean afterwards. My skin is oily/combination.
