This is a very gentle cleanser. Probably the best cleanser you can use that effectively removes dirt and impurities from pores without drying out the skin or irritating it in any way. Although this product did not improve my acne-prone skin, it's a great cleanser to use in combination with other products that are specifically targeted at healing acne.

This is the BEST. It cleans gently and that's that - no gimmicky stuff like "microbeads" that do nothing and can actually cause breakouts in me due to chemicals etc. I use this every night before bed and most mornings. Using this and petroleum jelly (you know the brand...) as a moisturizer religiously has made my skin look PERFECT which I have never been able to say before. It's the best combo! For the moisturizer, I take just a little bit and warm it up in my hands then apply a super thin layer all around my face, every time immediately after I wash. I also use a scrub washcloth now and then. No product/chemicals/goo needed to exfoliate! And so cheap. I LOVE MY SKIN!!!!

I have been using this cleanser for 15 years now. It was originally recommended by my dermatologist when I was a teen with teenage acne problems. I have very fair sensitive skin and went through all the prescribed medications that irritated my skin with no relief. This is the best cleanser out there. Even as a loyal user, I will occassionally try new products...and always go back to this-nothing can beat it!! I keep a bottle in the shower and one on the bathroom sink and use it twice a day with a toner and moisturizer.

This is the only place I have been able to find the 12 oz bottles- the first time I've seen it actually, and will buy those from now on because it is a much better value. This is such a gentle cleanser for all skin types I imagine I will be using it for another 30 years.

After years of searching for the perfect cleanser (I'm 36 with skin that is moody), I found Purpose. Purpose is gentle enough to use twice daily, yet is the first cleanser I've used that thoroughly removes my makeup. Previous cleansers, including many high-end brands, still required using a couple of cotton balls worth of toner to remove excess traces of makeup. Another plus is that a little goes a long way: a 6-ounce bottle lasts me at least 2 months. In the mornings, I will mix in a teaspoon of sugar to exfoliate my skin. It's a lot less expensive than store-bought exfoliants, and just as effective.

Works great! I have acne prone skin and this is the first and only cleanser that doesn't cause acne for me! It doesn't dry my skin or make it oily or greasy! It is great - as is the moisturizer!!!

This is exactly the same product as Clean & Clear's Foaming Cleanser for sensitive skin, but under the Purpose brand the same product is costlier (both Purpose and Clean & Clear are owned by Johnson & Johnson). So save yourself some cash and buy the Clean & Clear. Great stuff.

I've used Cetaphil cleanser for YEARS and although I still find it to be a great gentle cleanser, I felt at night, I needed something that was just a tad bit more powerful. Purpose Gentle Cleansing Wash (and any of the drugstore generic equivalents, such as CVS' version) is that cleanser.

This cleanser lathers up quickly and is easy to spread onto the face. I double cleanse with this nightly because I wear a high power sunscreen everyday and was informed that sunscreen should be properly washed off the face (as opposed to just cleansing the face once, since I guess sunscreen is technically considered a cosmetic). Even in the cold winter, with double cleansing every night (one pump each), my face does not dry out. I experienced dryness only once and I guess something was just out of whack that night, but this Purpose Gentle Cleansing Wash has been great to my skin.

I still use Cetaphil's cleanser, but only in the morning now. I truly feel Purpose gives me that clean feel after usage and I love how it's really a gentle cleanser, despite it foaming up. Only con I would say is that it smells (has fragrance) exactly like the Johnson's Baby Wash I used religiously as a kid, but....I guess Johnson uses the same fragrance. For a thorough yet gentle cleanse though, I can put up with the smell (while experiencing nostalgia. Haha)

I highly recommend this cleanser.

This is just THE BEST product I have ever used to wash my face! I have tried almost everything available and this one works best for me. You can use it on any skin and it is not harsh or drying and rinses off well. My dermatologist recommended it!

I love this product and wouldn't be without it. I have eczema and hives and overall dry skin and this works fabulouly. I use it in the shower and keep one by my kitchen sink.
