 | What are the side effects of Nizoral A-D?
|
| Nizoral A-D is an over-the-counter shampoo that treats the flaking, scaling, and itching from dandruff. It contains one-percent ketoconazole, an antifungal drug that works against Pityrosporum ovale, a fungus believed to cause a common form of dandruff. The side effects of Nizoral A-D are rare but may include an increase in normal hair loss, dry skin, and itching. Nizoral A-D may remove the dye from colored hair or curl from treated hair. See your doctor if your dandruff doesn't improve after 4 to 8 weeks of twice weekly use. Sources: Nizoral A-D product information, McNeil-PPC, Inc., 2006. Go, I.H.
