 | Do any drugs interact with baclofen?
|
| Baclofen (brand name Lioresal) is a medicine used to treat the muscle spasms, cramping, and tightness that affect many people with multiple sclerosis, spinal cord conditions, or tardive dyskinesia. It relaxes muscles by acting on the brain and spinal cord.Baclofen can interact with tricyclic antidepressants, such as imipramine (Tofranil), clomipramine (Anafranil), and amitriptyline (Elavil). This combination can result in memory loss and reduced muscle strength although this is more likely to occur with the injectable form of baclofen. If you are taking other medicines, be sure to tell your doctor and pharmacist about them before you start taking baclofen. Sources: Drug Facts and Comparisons. Facts & Comparisons, 2006.
