Chemical Name: TADALAFIL (ta-DAL-a-fil)
Cialis 20mg is a phosphodiesterase inhibitor used to treat sexual function problems such as impotence or erectile dysfunction. In combination with sexual stimulation, Cialis 20mg works by helping the blood flow into the penis to achieve and maintain an erection. Cialis 20mg is not intended for use in women or children. Cialis 20mg will not protect against sexually transmitted diseases including HIV infection. Use "safe sex" practices such as latex condoms. Contact your doctor or pharmacist for more details.
Some medicines or medical conditions may interact with Cialis 20mg. INFORM YOUR DOCTOR OR PHARMACIST of all prescription and over-the-counter medicine that you are taking. DO NOT TAKE CIALIS 20mg if you are taking a nitrate (eg, isosorbide, nitroglycerin) in any form (eg, tablet, capsule, patch, ointment), nitroprusside, certain recreational drugs called "poppers" (eg, amyl nitrate or nitrite, butyl nitrate or nitrite), another PDE5 inhibitor (eg, sildenafil, vardenafil) or another medicine that contains tadalafil. DO NOT USE OTHER MEDICINES OR TREATMENTS for ED while you are taking Cialis 20mg without first checking with your doctor. ADDITIONAL MONITORING OF YOUR DOSE OR CONDITION may be needed if you are taking antifungal medicines (eg, itraconazole); macrolide antibiotics (eg, erythromycin); telithromycin; medicine for high blood pressure; alpha-blockers (eg, doxazosin); rifampin; HIV protease inhibitors (eg, ritonavir); barbiturates (eg, phenobarbital); carbamazepine; or phenytoin. DO NOT START OR STOP any medicine without doctor or pharmacist approval. Inform your doctor of any other medical conditions including a deformed penis (eg, Peyronie disease, cavernosal fibrosis), blood cell problems (eg, sickle cell anemia, leukemia, multiple myeloma), other conditions that may increase the risk of a prolonged erection (priapism), allergies, pregnancy, or breast-feeding. Tell your doctor if you have a history of certain eye problems (eg, retinitis pigmentosa, sudden vision loss, optic neuropathy, macular degeneration) or hearing problems (eg, ringing in the ears, decreased hearing, hearing loss); prolonged (more than 4 hours) or painful erection (priapism); liver or kidney problems; lung problems (eg, pulmonary veno-occlusive disease); high or low blood pressure; ulcers; bleeding problems; blood vessel problems, or heart problems (eg, heart failure, irregular heartbeat, aortic stenosis, angina). Tell your doctor if you have a history of heart attack, stroke, or life-threatening irregular heartbeat. Tell your doctor if you are on dialysis. USE OF CIALIS 20mg IS NOT RECOMMENDED if you have severe liver problems, certain hereditary degenerative eye problems (eg, retinitis pigmentosa), low blood pressure, uncontrolled high blood pressure, uncontrolled irregular heartbeat, or certain other heart problems (eg, unstable angina, angina during sexual intercourse, severe heart failure). Use of Cialis 20mg is not recommended if you have had a heart attack within the past 90 days, stroke within in the past 6 months, or if you have been told by your healthcare provider to avoid sexual activity because of heart or other health problems. DAILY USE OF CIALIS 20mg IS NOT RECOMMENDED if you have severe kidney problems. Cialis 20mg is not recommended for use in CHILDREN; safety and effectiveness in children have not been confirmed. Contact your doctor or pharmacist if you have any questions or concerns about taking Cialis 20mg.
Follow the directions for using Cialis 20mg provided by your doctor. An additional patient information leaflet is available with Cialis 20mg. Read it carefully. Ask your doctor, nurse, or pharmacist any questions that you may have about Cialis 20mg. FOR USE AS NEEDED: Take Cialis 20mg at least 30 minutes before sexual activity, as directed by your doctor. Cialis 20mg may work up to 36 hours after you take it. FOR DAILY USE: Take Cialis 20mg regularly at about the same time each day. Talk with your doctor if you have questions about how you should take Cialis 20mg. DO NOT TAKE CIALIS 20mg more often than once daily. If you are taking certain other medicines you may only be able to take Cialis 20mg one time every two or three days. Contact your doctor or pharmacist for more information. Cialis 20mg may be taken on an empty stomach or with food. CHECK WITH YOUR DOCTOR before you eat grapefruit or drink grapefruit juice while you are taking Cialis 20mg. STORE CIALIS 20mg at room temperature 77 degrees F (25 degrees C) in a tightly-closed container, away from heat and light. Brief storage between 59 and 86 degrees F (15 and 30 degrees C) is permitted. FOR USE AS NEEDED: If you miss a dose of Cialis 20mg and you still intend to engage in sexual activity, take it as soon as you remember. Continue to take it as directed by your doctor. FOR DAILY USE: If you miss a dose of Cialis 20mg, take it as soon as possible. If it is almost time for your next dose, skip the missed dose and go back to your regular dosing schedule. Do not take 2 doses at once.
DO NOT USE CIALIS 20mg IF you are allergic to any ingredient in Cialis 20mg. CIALIS 20mg MAY CAUSE DIZZINESS, DROWSINESS, LIGHTHEADEDNESS, FAINTING, OR BLURRED VISION. Alcohol, hot weather, exercise, or fever may increase these effects. To prevent them, sit up or stand slowly, especially in the morning. Sit or lie down at the first sign of any of these effects. Use Cialis 20mg with caution. Do not drive or perform other possibly unsafe tasks until you know how you react to it. DO NOT DRINK large amounts of alcohol while you take Cialis 20mg. Doing so may increase your risk of dizziness, headache, fast heartbeat, and low blood pressure. PATIENTS WITH HEART PROBLEMS who take Cialis 20mg may be at increased risk for heart-related side effects, including heart attack or stroke. Symptoms of a heart attack may include chest, shoulder, neck, or jaw pain; numbness of an arm or leg; severe dizziness, headache, nausea, stomach pain, or vomiting; fainting; or vision changes. Symptoms of a stroke may include confusion; vision or speech changes; one-sided weakness; or fainting. Contact your doctor or seek medical attention right away if you experience these symptoms. CIALIS 20mg MAY RARELY CAUSE a prolonged painful erection. If this is not treated right away, it could lead to permanent sexual problems such as impotence. Contact your doctor right away if this happens. CIALIS 20mg MAY UNCOMMONLY CAUSE mild, temporary vision changes (eg, blurred vision, sensitivity to light, blue/green color tint to vision). RARELY, an eye problem called nonarteritic anterior ischemic optic neuropathy (NAION) has been reported in patients who took Cialis 20mg. This may lead to decreased vision or permanent loss of vision in some cases. If you notice a sudden decrease in vision or loss of vision, contact your doctor right away. SUDDEN DECREASES IN HEARING AND LOSS OF HEARING have been reported in some patients who have taken Cialis 20mg. Sometimes they also noticed ringing in the ears or dizziness. If you notice a sudden decrease or loss of hearing, contact your doctor right away. CIALIS 20mg DOES NOT STOP THE SPREAD OF HIV or other sexually transmitted diseases to others through sexual contact. Use barrier methods of birth control if you have HIV infection or an STD. CIALIS 20mg WILL NOT PREVENT PREGNANCY. If your partner may become pregnant and you wish to avoid pregnancy, be sure to use an effective form of birth control. Use Cialis 20mg with caution in the ELDERLY; they may be more sensitive to its effects. FOR WOMEN: CIALIS 20mg IS NOT APPROVED FOR USE IN WOMEN. IF YOU BECOME PREGNANT, contact your doctor. You will need to discuss the benefits and risks of using Cialis 20mg while you are pregnant. IT IS NOT KNOWN IF CIALIS 20mg IS FOUND in breast milk. IF YOU ARE OR WILL BE BREAST-FEEDING while you use Cialis 20mg, check with your doctor. Discuss any possible risks to your baby.
SIDE EFFECTS that may occur while taking Cialis 20mg include dizziness; flushing; headache; heartburn; mild back or muscle pain; stomach upset; stuffy or runny nose. If these continue or are bothersome, check with your doctor. CONTACT YOUR DOCTOR IMMEDIATELY if you experience chest pain; fainting; fast or irregular heartbeat; memory loss; numbness of an arm or leg; one-sided weakness; prolonged, painful erection; red, swollen, blistered, or peeling skin; ringing in the ears; seizures; severe or persistent back or muscle pain; severe or persistent dizziness; severe or persistent vision changes; sudden decrease or loss of hearing; or sudden decrease or loss of vision in one or both eyes. AN ALLERGIC REACTION to Cialis 20mg is unlikely but seek immediate medical attention if it occurs. Symptoms of an allergic reaction include rash; hives; itching; difficulty breathing; tightness in the chest; or swelling of the mouth, face, lips, or tongue. IF OVERDOSE IS SUSPECTED, contact your local poison control center or emergency room immediately. Symptoms of overdose may include chest pain; fainting; prolonged erection; severe dizziness; severe or persistent back or muscle pain; or severe or persistent vision changes.
If your symptoms do not improve or if they become worse, check with your doctor. DO NOT SHARE CIALIS 20mg with others for whom it was not prescribed, since they may have a problem that is not effectively treated with Cialis 20mg, or they may have a condition that is complicated by Cialis 20mg. DO NOT USE CIALIS 20mg for other health conditions. KEEP CIALIS 20mg out of the reach of children and pets. IF USING CIALIS 20mg FOR AN EXTENDED PERIOD OF TIME, obtain refills before your supply runs out.
