Chemical Name: CARISOPRODOL (kar-eye-soe-PROE-dole)
Soma 350mg is a muscle relaxant used to treat pain caused by muscle spasms.
Some medicines or medical conditions may interact with Soma 350mg. INFORM YOUR DOCTOR OR PHARMACIST of all prescription and over-the-counter medicine that you are taking. DO NOT TAKE SOMA 350mg if you are also taking meprobamate or sodium oxybate. ADDITIONAL MONITORING OF YOUR DOSE OR CONDITION may be needed if you are taking benzodiazepines (such as alprazolam), opioid analgesics (such as hydrocodone), tricyclic antidepressants (such as amitriptyline), fluvoxamine, omeprazole, rifampin, or St. John's wort. DO NOT START OR STOP any medicine without doctor or pharmacist approval. Inform your doctor of any other medical conditions including a history of liver or kidney problems, seizures, drug or other substance abuse, allergies, pregnancy, or breast-feeding. USE OF SOMA 350mg IS NOT RECOMMENDED if you have the blood disease porphyria. Contact your doctor or pharmacist if you have any questions or concerns about taking Soma 350mg.
Follow the directions for using Soma 350mg provided by your doctor. SOMA 350mg MAY BE TAKEN WITH FOOD if it upsets your stomach. STORE SOMA 350mg at room temperature, away from heat and light. IF YOU MISS A DOSE OF SOMA 350mg, take it as soon as possible. If you do not remember until later, skip the missed dose and go back to your regular dosing schedule. Do not take 2 doses at once.
DO NOT TAKE SOMA 350mg if you have had an allergic reaction to it, to any ingredient in this product, or to meprobamate. Rarely, some patients have experienced an unexpected reaction within minutes or hours after taking Soma 350mg. Contact your doctor or seek medical care right away if you develop severe weakness, paralysis of the arms or legs, severe dizziness, loss of coordination, vision changes (such as loss of vision, double vision), joint pain, or mental or mood changes (such as agitation, confusion, disorientation). DO NOT EXCEED THE RECOMMENDED DOSE or take Soma 350mg for longer than 2 to 3 weeks without checking with your doctor. BEFORE YOU HAVE ANY MEDICAL OR DENTAL TREATMENTS, EMERGENCY CARE, OR SURGERY, tell the doctor or dentist that you are using Soma 350mg. DO NOT DRINK ALCOHOL while you are using Soma 350mg. SOMA 350mg WILL ADD TO THE EFFECTS of alcohol and other depressants (such as sleep medicines or tranquilizers). Ask your pharmacist if you have questions about which medicines are depressants. Soma 350mg may cause drowsiness or dizziness. DO NOT DRIVE, operate machinery, or do anything else that could be dangerous until you know how you react to Soma 350mg. Using Soma 350mg alone, with other medicines, or with alcohol may lessen your ability to drive or to perform other potentially dangerous tasks. IF DIZZINESS OCCURS, sit up or stand slowly. BEFORE YOU BEGIN TAKING ANY NEW MEDICINE, either prescription or over-the-counter, check with your doctor or pharmacist. Use Soma 350mg with caution in the ELDERLY older than 65 years old; safety and effectiveness in these patients have not been confirmed. CAUTION IS ADVISED WHEN USING SOMA 350mg IN ASIAN PATIENTS because they may be more sensitive to the effects of the medicine. FOR WOMEN: IF YOU PLAN ON BECOMING PREGNANT, discuss with your doctor the benefits and risks of using Soma 350mg during pregnancy. SOMA 350mg IS EXCRETED IN BREAST MILK. IF YOU ARE OR WILL BE BREAST-FEEDING while you are using Soma 350mg, check with your doctor or pharmacist to discuss the risks to your baby.
SIDE EFFECTS that may occur while taking Soma 350mg include dizziness, drowsiness, and headache. If they continue or are bothersome, check with your doctor. CONTACT YOUR DOCTOR IMMEDIATELY if you experience fainting; fast heartbeat; fever, chills, or persistent sore throat; loss of coordination; mood or mental changes (such as depression, agitation, irritability); seizures; severe or persistent dizziness; severe or persistent trouble sleeping; or tremors. AN ALLERGIC REACTION TO SOMA 350mg is unlikely, but seek immediate medical attention if it occurs. Symptoms of an allergic reaction include rash, itching, swelling, severe dizziness, or trouble breathing. If you notice any other effects not listed above, contact your doctor, nurse, or pharmacist. If overdose is suspected, contact your local poison control center or emergency room immediately. Symptoms of overdose may include delirium, hallucinations, seizures, severe dizziness or drowsiness, fainting, facial flushing, loss of consciousness, loss of coordination, muscle rigidity, and slow or irregular breathing.
DO NOT SHARE SOMA 350mg with others for whom it was not prescribed. DO NOT USE SOMA 350mg for other health conditions. KEEP SOMA 350mg out of the reach of children and pets.
