Tablets
Chemical Name: DIGOXIN (di-JOX-in)

Common uses
Lanoxin 0.125mg is a cardiac glycoside used to treat heart failure and some irregular heart rhythms.

Before using
Some medicines or medical conditions may interact with Lanoxin 0.125mg. INFORM YOUR DOCTOR OR PHARMACIST of all prescription and over-the-counter medicine that you are taking. ADDITIONAL MONITORING OF YOUR DOSE OR CONDITION may be needed if you are taking acarbose, amphotericin B, aminoglycoside, macrolide or tetracycline antibiotics; amiodarone; cholestyramine; colestipol; cyclosporine; diltiazem; indomethacin; itraconazole; loop or thiazide diuretics; penicillamine; propafenone; quinidine; quinine; verapamil; or medicine for cancer or thyroid conditions. Inform your doctor of any other medical conditions, allergies, pregnancy, or breast-feeding. USE OF LANOXIN 0.125mg IS NOT RECOMMENDED if you have a history of ventricular fibrillation. Contact your doctor or pharmacist if you have any questions or concerns about taking Lanoxin 0.125mg.

Directions
Follow the directions for using Lanoxin 0.125mg provided by your doctor. DO NOT TAKE LANOXIN 0.125mg within 1 hour of food high in fiber. DO NOT TAKE antacids containing aluminum or magnesium, cholestyramine, or colestipol within 2 to 4 hours of taking Lanoxin 0.125mg. STORE LANOXIN 0.125mg at room temperature, away from heat and light. IF YOU MISS A DOSE OF LANOXIN 0.125mg take it as soon as possible. If it is almost time for your next dose, skip the missed dose and go back to your regular dosing schedule. Do not take 2 doses at once.

Cautions
DO NOT TAKE LANOXIN 0.125mg if you have had an allergic reaction to it or are allergic to any ingredient in this product. DO NOT STOP TAKING LANOXIN 0.125mg without first checking with your doctor. Lanoxin 0.125mg may cause dizziness or blurred vision. DO NOT DRIVE, OPERATE MACHINERY, OR DO ANYTHING ELSE THAT COULD BE DANGEROUS until you know how you react to Lanoxin 0.125mg. Using Lanoxin 0.125mg alone, with other medicines, or with alcohol may lessen your ability to drive or to perform other potentially dangerous tasks. BEFORE YOU HAVE ANY MEDICAL OR DENTAL TREATMENTS, EMERGENCY CARE, OR SURGERY, tell the doctor or dentist that you are using Lanoxin 0.125mg. BEFORE YOU BEGIN TAKING ANY NEW MEDICINE, either prescription or over-the-counter, check with your doctor or pharmacist. CAUTION IS ADVISED WHEN USING LANOXIN 0.125mg IN INFANTS (especially premature or immature infants) becuase they may be more sensitive to the effects of Lanoxin 0.125mg. FOR WOMEN: IF YOU PLAN ON BECOMING PREGNANT, discuss with your doctor the benefits and risks of using Lanoxin 0.125mg during pregnancy. LANOXIN 0.125mg IS EXCRETED in breast milk. IF YOU ARE OR WILL BE BREAST-FEEDING while you are using Lanoxin 0.125mg, check with your doctor or pharmacist to discuss the risks to your baby.

Possible side effects
SIDE EFFECTS that may occur while using Lanoxin 0.125mg include diarrhea or nausea. If they continue or are bothersome, check with your doctor. CHECK WITH YOUR DOCTOR AS SOON AS POSSIBLE if you experience blurred vision, yellow vision, or other vision changes. CONTACT YOUR DOCTOR IMMEDIATELY if you experience confusion; fast, slow, or irregular heartbeat; hallucinations; mood or mental changes (such as depression); severe or persistent nausea, vomiting, or stomach pain; unusual tiredness or weakness; or unusual bruising or bleeding. AN ALLERGIC REACTION to Lanoxin 0.125mg is unlikely, but seek immediate medical attention if it occurs. Symptoms of an allergic reaction include rash, itching, swelling, severe dizziness, or trouble breathing. If you notice other effects not listed above, contact your doctor, nurse, or pharmacist. If you take too much
POISONING MAY OCCUR IN CHILDREN WHO ACCIDENTALLY SWALLOW LANOXIN 0.125mg or who receive too much medicine. IF OVERDOSE IS SUSPECTED, contact your local poison control center or emergency room immediately. Symptoms of overdose may include very fast, very slow, or irregular heartbeat.

Additional information
DO NOT SHARE LANOXIN 0.125mg with others for whom it was not prescribed. DO NOT USE LANOXIN 0.125mg for other health conditions. KEEP LANOXIN 0.125mg out of the reach of children and pets. IF YOU WILL BE USING LANOXIN 0.125mg FOR AN EXTENDED PERIOD OF TIME, be sure to obtain necessary refills before your supply runs out.
