Chemical Name: ONDANSETRON (on-DAN-se-tron)
Zofran 4mg is an antiemetic used to prevent nausea and vomiting following chemotherapy, radiation therapy, or surgery. It may also be used for other conditions as determined by your doctor.
Some medicines or medical conditions may interact with Zofran 4mg. INFORM YOUR DOCTOR OR PHARMACIST of all prescription and over-the-counter medicine that you are taking. ADDITIONAL MONITORING OF YOUR DOSE OR CONDITION may be needed if you are taking seizure medicine (such as phenytoin or carbamazepine), rifampicin, tramadol, or certain chemotherapy medicines (such as cisplatin or cyclophosphamide). DO NOT START OR STOP any medicine without doctor or pharmacist approval. Inform your doctor of any other medical conditions, including liver problems, stomach or bowel problems (such as blockage of the bowel), allergies, pregnancy, or breast-feeding. Contact your doctor or pharmacist if you have any questions or concerns about taking Zofran 4mg.
Use Zofran 4mg exactly as directed by your doctor. ZOFRAN 4mg MAY BE STARTED BEFORE your cancer treatment or surgery. STORE ZOFRAN 4mg below 86 degrees F (30 degrees C) in a tightly-closed container, away from heat and light. CONTINUE TO TAKE ZOFRAN 4mg for the entire time recommended by your doctor even if you feel well. Do not miss any doses. IF YOU MISS A DOSE OF ZOFRAN 4mg, take it as soon as possible. If it is almost time for your next dose, skip the missed dose and go back to your regular dosing schedule. DO NOT take 2 doses at once.
DO NOT TAKE ZOFRAN 4mg if you have had an allergic reaction to it, to any ingredient in this product, or to any similar medicine. DO NOT EXCEED THE RECOMMENDED DOSE or take Zofran 4mg for longer than prescribed without checking with your doctor. IF YOU EXPERIENCE NAUSEA OR VOMITING while using Zofran 4mg, check with your doctor. IF YOU EXPERIENCE difficulty breathing; tightness of chest; swelling of eyelids, face, or lips; or if you develop a rash or hives, tell your doctor immediately. Do not take any more doses of Zofran 4mg unless your doctor tells you to do so. BEFORE YOU BEGIN TAKING ANY NEW MEDICINE, either prescription or over-the-counter, check with your doctor or pharmacist. FOR WOMEN: IF YOU PLAN ON BECOMING PREGNANT, discuss with your doctor the benefits and risks of using Zofran 4mg during pregnancy. IT IS UNKNOWN IF ZOFRAN 4mg IS EXCRETED in breast milk. IF YOU ARE OR WILL BE BREAST-FEEDING while you are using Zofran 4mg, check with your doctor or pharmacist to discuss the risks to your baby.
SIDE EFFECTS that may occur while taking Zofran 4mg include headache, diarrhea, constipation, stomach pain, tiredness, or weakness. If they continue or are bothersome, check with your doctor. CONTACT YOUR DOCTOR AS SOON AS POSSIBLE if you experience unusual eye movement. CONTACT YOUR DOCTOR IMMEDIATELY if you experience temporary vision loss. AN ALLERGIC REACTION to Zofran 4mg is unlikely, but seek immediate medical attention if it occurs. Symptoms of an allergic reaction include rash, itching, swelling, dizziness, or trouble breathing. If you notice other effects not listed above, contact your doctor, nurse, or pharmacist. This is not a complete list of all side effects that may occur. DO NOT SHARE ZOFRAN 4mg with others for whom it was not prescribed. DO NOT USE ZOFRAN 4mg for other health conditions. KEEP ZOFRAN 4mg out of the reach of children.
