Chemical Name: TEMAZEPAM (tem-AZ-e-pam)
Restoril 15mg is a benzodiazepine used to treat sleep disorders. It may also be used to treat other conditions as determined by your doctor.
Some medicines or medical conditions may interact with Restoril 15mg. INFORM YOUR DOCTOR OR PHARMACIST of all prescription and over-the-counter medicine that you are taking. ADDITIONAL MONITORING OF YOUR DOSE OR CONDITION may be needed if you are taking clozapine, disulfiram, or medicine for seizures. Inform your doctor of any other medical conditions, allergies, pregnancy, or breast-feeding. Contact your doctor or pharmacist if you have any questions or concerns about using Restoril 15mg.
Follow the directions for using Restoril 15mg provided by your doctor. STORE RESTORIL 15mg at room temperature, away from heat and light.
DO NOT TAKE RESTORIL 15mg if you have had an allergic reaction to it or are allergic to any ingredient in this product. DO NOT EXCEED THE RECOMMENDED DOSE or take Restoril 15mg for longer than prescribed without checking with your doctor. Exceeding the recommended dose or taking Restoril 15mg for longer than prescribed may be habit-forming. If using Restoril 15mg for an extended period of time, DO NOT SUDDENLY STOP taking Restoril 15mg without your doctor's approval. When used for an extended period of time, Restoril 15mg may not work as well and may require different dosing. Talk with your doctor if Restoril 15mg stops working well. BEFORE YOU HAVE ANY MEDICAL OR DENTAL TREATMENTS, EMERGENCY CARE, OR SURGERY, tell the doctor or dentist that you are using Restoril 15mg. AVOID ALCOHOL while you are using Restoril 15mg. RESTORIL 15mg WILL ADD TO THE EFFECTS of alcohol and other depressants (such as muscle relaxants). Ask your pharmacist if you have questions about which medicines are depressants. RESTORIL 15mg MAY CAUSE drowsiness, dizziness, or lightheadedness. DO NOT DRIVE, OPERATE MACHINERY, OR DO ANYTHING ELSE THAT COULD BE DANGEROUS until you know how you react to Restoril 15mg. Using Restoril 15mg alone, with other medicines, or with alcohol may lessen your ability to drive or to perform other potentially dangerous tasks. SOME PATIENTS TAKING RESTORIL 15mg have performed certain activities while they were not fully awake. These have included sleep-driving, making and eating food, making phone calls, and having sex. Patients often do not remember these events after they happen. Such an event may be more likely to occur if you use a high dose of Restoril 15mg. It may also be more likely if you drink alcohol or take other medicines that may cause drowsiness while you use Restoril 15mg. Tell your doctor right away if such an event happens to you. BEFORE YOU BEGIN TAKING ANY NEW MEDICINE, either prescription or over-the-counter, check with your doctor or pharmacist. CAUTION IS ADVISED WHEN USING RESTORIL 15mg IN THE ELDERLY because they may be more sensitive to the effects of the medicine, especially confusion, dizziness, daytime drowsiness, falling, and staggering. FOR WOMEN: DO NOT USE RESTORIL 15mg if you are pregnant. Avoid becoming pregnant while you are taking it. If you think you may be pregnant, contact your doctor immediately. RESTORIL 15mg IS EXCRETED IN BREAST MILK. DO NOT BREAST-FEED while taking Restoril 15mg.
SIDE EFFECTS that may occur while using Restoril 15mg include clumsiness, dizziness, drowsiness, headache, lightheadedness, stomach upset, unsteadiness, or weakness. If they continue or are bothersome, check with your doctor. CHECK WITH YOUR DOCTOR AS SOON AS POSSIBLE if you experience memory loss. CONTACT YOUR DOCTOR IMMEDIATELY if you experience bizarre behavior; changes in personality, mood, or behavior; chest pain; confusion; depression; disorientation; fainting; falling or staggering; hallucinations; irregular heartbeat; loss of coordination; severe drowsiness; or unusual tiredness or weakness; swelling of your hands, legs, face, lips, eyes, throat, or tongue; difficulty swallowing or breathing; or unusual hoarseness. AN ALLERGIC REACTION to Restoril 15mg is unlikely, but seek immediate medical attention if it occurs. Symptoms of an allergic reaction include rash, itching, swelling, severe dizziness, or trouble breathing. If you notice other effects not listed above, contact your doctor, nurse, or pharmacist. If overdose is suspected, contact your local poison control center or emergency room immediately. Symptoms of overdose may include confusion, slow reflexes, clumsiness, deep sleep, and loss of consciousness.
You may experience trouble sleeping for 1 to 2 nights after you stop taking Restoril 15mg. If it continues, contact your doctor. DO NOT SHARE RESTORIL 15mg with others for whom it was not prescribed. DO NOT USE RESTORIL 15mg for other health conditions. KEEP RESTORIL 15mg out of the reach of children.
