Chemical Name: PEDIATRIC MULTIPLE VITAMINS with FLUORIDE and IRON
This medicine is a nutritional supplement used to add vitamins, fluoride, and iron to your diet.
Some medicines or medical conditions may interact with this medicine. INFORM YOUR DOCTOR OR PHARMACIST of all prescription and over-the-counter medicine that you are taking. ADDITIONAL MONITORING OF YOUR DOSE OR CONDITION may be needed if you are taking fluorouracil, doxycycline, hydantoin seizure medicines, penicillamine, or thyroid hormones. Inform your doctor of any other medical conditions or allergies. Contact your doctor or pharmacist if you have any questions or concerns about using this medicine.
Follow the directions for using this medicine provided by your doctor. This medicine may be dropped right into the mouth or mixed with juice, cereal, or other food. THIS MEDICINE IS ABSORBED BETTER ON AN EMPTY STOMACH BUT MAY BE TAKEN WITH FOOD if it upsets the stomach. Calcium (including milk and dairy products), aluminum, and magnesium-containing products (e.g., certain antacids or laxatives) can decrease the absorption of fluoride, thereby decreasing its effectiveness. Take fluoride several hours apart from such products and foods. STORE THIS MEDICINE in the original plastic container that it came in. Check the bottle of this medicine or with your pharmacist to see if your brand needs to be refrigerated after opening. IF YOU MISS A DOSE OF THIS MEDICINE, take it as soon as possible. If it is almost time for your next dose, skip the missed dose and go back to your regular dosing schedule. Do NOT take 2 doses at once.
ACCIDENTAL OVERDOSE of iron-containing products is a leading cause of fatal poisoning in children under 6. Do not take more of this medicine than recommended. KEEP THIS MEDICINE out of the reach of children.
NO SIDE EFFECTS HAVE BEEN REPORTED with the proper use of this medicine. If you notice any unusual effects, contact your doctor, nurse, or pharmacist. If overdose is suspected, contact your local poison control center or emergency room immediately. Symptoms of overdose may include nausea, vomiting, stomach pain, diarrhea, blood in vomit, tiredness, increased salivation, tingling, and seizures.
DO NOT SHARE THIS MEDICINE with others for whom it was not prescribed. DO NOT USE THIS MEDICINE for other health conditions. KEEP THIS MEDICINE out of the reach of children. IF USING THIS MEDICINE FOR AN EXTENDED PERIOD OF TIME, obtain refills before your supply runs out.
