Tablets
Chemical Name: OXYCODONE (ox-i-KOE-done) and ASPIRIN (AS-pir-in)

Common uses
Percodan 4.5-0.38-325mg is an analgesic combination used to prevent or relieve moderate to severe pain.

Before using
WARNING: Children and teenagers should not use aspirin, aspirin- containing or aspirin-related medicines for flu symptoms or chickenpox without first consulting a doctor. A rare but serious illness known as Reye's syndrome may occur. Some medicines or medical conditions may interact with Percodan 4.5-0.38-325mg. INFORM YOUR DOCTOR OR PHARMACIST of all prescription and over-the-counter medicine that you are taking. DO NOT TAKE PERCODAN 4.5-0.38-325mg if you are also taking heparin, probenecid, or sulfinpyrazone. ADDITIONAL MONITORING OF YOUR DOSE OR CONDITION may be needed if you are taking anticoagulants, carbamazepine, valproic acid, or medicine for glaucoma (carbonic anhydrase inhibitors) or diabetes. Inform your doctor of any other medical conditions including asthma, nasal polyps, any allergies - especially aspirin/NSAID allergy (e.g., ibuprofen, celecoxib), pregnancy, or breast-feeding. USE OF PERCODAN 4.5-0.38-325mg IS NOT RECOMMENDED if you have chickenpox or influenza, or a history of blood or clotting disorders. Contact your doctor or pharmacist if you have any questions or concerns about using Percodan 4.5-0.38-325mg.

Directions
Follow the directions for using Percodan 4.5-0.38-325mg provided by your doctor. TAKE PERCODAN 4.5-0.38-325mg WITH FOOD or milk to prevent stomach upset. STORE PERCODAN 4.5-0.38-325mg at room temperature in a tightly-closed container, away from heat and light. IF YOU MISS A DOSE OF PERCODAN 4.5-0.38-325mg and you are using it regularly, take it as soon as possible. If it is almost time for your next dose, skip the missed dose and go back to your regular dosing schedule. Do not take 2 doses at once.

Cautions
DO NOT TAKE PERCODAN 4.5-0.38-325mg if you have had any unusual or allergic reaction to aspirin, ibuprofen, naproxen, or any other medicine used to treat pain, fever, swelling, or arthritis. IF YOU HAVE HAD A SEVERE ALLERGIC REACTION to codeine, hydrocodone, dihydrocodeine, or oxycodone (such as Tylox, Tylenol with Codeine, Vicodin), contact your doctor or pharmacist BEFORE TAKING PERCODAN 4.5-0.38-325mg. A severe allergic reaction includes a severe rash, hives, breathing difficulties, or dizziness. If you have a question about whether you are allergic to Percodan 4.5-0.38-325mg, contact your doctor or pharmacist. IF YOU EXPERIENCE difficulty breathing; tightness of chest; swelling of eyelids, face, or lips; or if you develop a rash or hives, tell your doctor immediately. Do not take any more doses of Percodan 4.5-0.38-325mg unless your doctor tells you to do so. Monitor your pain as directed by your doctor. If pain is left untreated and becomes intense, Percodan 4.5-0.38-325mg may not work as well to relieve it. DO NOT EXCEED the recommended dose, take Percodan 4.5-0.38-325mg more often, or for longer than prescribed without checking with your doctor. Exceeding the recommended dose or taking Percodan 4.5-0.38-325mg for longer than prescribed may be habit-forming. BEFORE YOU HAVE ANY MEDICAL OR DENTAL SURGERY OR EMERGENCY TREATMENT, tell the doctor or dentist that you are taking Percodan 4.5-0.38-325mg. AVOID ALCOHOL while you are using Percodan 4.5-0.38-325mg. Percodan 4.5-0.38-325mg will add to the effects of alcohol and other depressants. DO NOT DRIVE, OPERATE MACHINERY, OR DO ANYTHING ELSE THAT COULD BE DANGEROUS until you know how you react to Percodan 4.5-0.38-325mg. Using Percodan 4.5-0.38-325mg alone, with other medicines, or with alcohol may lessen your ability to drive or to perform other potentially dangerous tasks. PERCODAN 4.5-0.38-325mg CONTAINS ASPIRIN which has been linked to Reye's syndrome. DO NOT GIVE PERCODAN 4.5-0.38-325mg TO CHILDREN OR TEENAGERS during or after chickenpox, flu, or other viral infection without checking with your doctor, nurse, or pharmacist for more information. PERCODAN 4.5-0.38-325mg MAY CAUSE stomach bleeding. If you drink alcohol on a daily basis, do not take Percodan 4.5-0.38-325mg without first discussing it with your doctor. Alcohol use combined with Percodan 4.5-0.38-325mg may increase your risk for stomach bleeding. BEFORE YOU BEGIN TAKING ANY NEW MEDICINE, either prescription or over-the-counter, check with your doctor or pharmacist. This includes any medicine that contains aspirin or salicylate. FOR WOMEN: IF YOU PLAN ON BECOMING PREGNANT, discuss with your doctor the benefits and risks of using Percodan 4.5-0.38-325mg during pregnancy. PERCODAN 4.5-0.38-325mg IS EXCRETED IN BREAST MILK. IF YOU ARE OR WILL BE BREAST-FEEDING while you are using Percodan 4.5-0.38-325mg, check with your doctor or pharmacist to discuss the risks to your baby.

Possible side effects
SIDE EFFECTS, that may go away during treatment, include drowsiness, dizziness, lightheadedness, upset stomach, heartburn, nausea, blurred vision, or constipation. If they continue or are bothersome, check with your doctor. CHECK WITH YOUR DOCTOR AS SOON AS POSSIBLE if you experience excessive drowsiness, confusion, rash, itching, vomiting, diarrhea, bloody or black stools, sweating, ringing in the ears, or hearing loss. CONTACT YOUR DOCTOR IMMEDIATELY if you experience difficulty swallowing, hoarseness, or shortness of breath. If you notice other effects not listed above, contact your doctor, nurse, or pharmacist. If you take too much
If overdose is suspected, contact your local poison control center or emergency room immediately. Symptoms of overdose may include slow and shallow breathing, unusual sleepiness, dizziness, decreased pupil size, cold and clammy skin, difficulty hearing, ringing in the ears, headache, sweating, thirst, nausea, vomiting, and loss of consciousness.

Additional information
If your symptoms do not improve or if they become worse, check with your doctor. DO NOT SHARE PERCODAN 4.5-0.38-325mg with others for whom it was not prescribed. DO NOT USE PERCODAN 4.5-0.38-325mg for other health conditions. KEEP PERCODAN 4.5-0.38-325mg out of the reach of children and pets.
