Directions

Apply liberally 15 minutes before sun exposure.  For added protection, reapply after swimming, excessive perspiration, towel drying or extended sun exposure.  If necessary, remove pump to squeeze out remaining product for complete evacuation.  After product sits unused for a prolonged period of time, pump until lotion consistency is obtained.

For external use only.  Not to be swallowed.  Avoid contact with eyes.  Discontinue use if signs of irritation of rash appear.  Use on children under 6 months of age only with advice of a physician.  Keep this and all drugs out of reach of children.  If swallowed, get medical help or contact a Poison Control Center right away.

For years I hated slathering on heavy sunscreen/sunblock that was greasy and had a terrible strong smell. I decided to try Neutrogena's Ultra Soft Hydrating Sunblock and was surprised that it was true to it's label, it is lightweight, non-greasy and has a light fresh scent. I also like that it has a convenient pump because while putting on sunscreen it tends to slip out of my hands.

This is too thick to be called a body lotion. It's more like a regular sunscreen cream. It's a bit greasy at first but it does sink in eventually. It's OK. It didn't smell nice at all. It smelled a bit rancid actually.

I've known this for a while, but I just couldn't get into the habit of putting on sunscreen in addition to a body lotion everyday. This is exactly what I need, a body lotion that IS sunscreen! I can't really vouch for how effective the sunscreen is, since I don't burn easily (light olive skin) and I haven't used it while laying out on the beach. But for an everyday lotion that gives me protection from the harmful LA sun it's awesome! It moisturizes quite well but doesn't feel sticky or oily (I have mildly dry skin). However, if you have severely dry skin I would recommend using a strong moisturizer in addition to this. I have some sunburn peeling on my arms and the lotion didn't do much to help that, but I didn't really expect it to. Also, I wouldn't use this on my face. I have semi-sensitive and very dry skin on my face, so I have to use a separate moisturizer (Cetaphil) before I put sunscreen on, and even then I only use sunscreen made for a sensitive face. As for the scent, if you've used Neutrogena Ultra Sheer Dry-Touch sunscreen, this smells the same, just a slightly lighter scent

I give this product three ... by Anonymous in Undisclosed on 6/7/08 I give this product three stars for the sun protection it provides, but that's about the only thing good about it. It does NOT feel like a regular body lotion; it leaves my skin feeling ashy and dry. I notice that it also breaks down into white flakes that get on my clothes. As for the scent, my husband thinks that it's slightly reminiscent of bug spray ("Country Fresh Raid," to be exact). I usually am partial to Neutrogena products, but this is not one of them.

This sunblock really does ... by Christina D in New Cumberland, PA on 6/23/06 This sunblock really does feel like a lotion, and has a very nice scent. I don't need to wear perfume during the summer. Absorbs quickly and doesn't feel geasy. I use it daily on my very pale, very sensitive skin.

This lotion is better ... by Anonymous in Undisclosed on 3/28/05 This lotion is better than Neutrogena Healthy Defense oil-free sunblock lotion SPF 45- it felt sticky and oily. I decided to try the same Neutrogena lotion. This new lotion smelled really nice and soft...it doesn't cause acne or it doesn't feel oily at all. I fell in love with this new one. I recommend it to anyone.
