Apply liberally 15 minutes before sun exposure.  For added protection, reapply after swimming, excessive perspiration, towel drying or extended sun exposure.

Shame on Neutrogena by Belann in Marietta, GA on 8/15/08 Cons: Not Effective Describe Yourself: Quality Oriented Bottom Line: not recommended I wore this on my face for a year and got some sun damage that I never had before. Then I find out they are not all that! Look at [...]. There has been a big fuss about effective and safe sunscreens and this is not one of them!I purchased new sunscreen today.By the way, on some sites I have read of other customers who got the same problems I did after using the sunscreen.

Best sunblock for the money by Ivy Girl in Charlotte NC on 7/11/08 Pros: Effective Protection, Not Greasy, Sweatproof Best Uses: Beach, Daily Use, Sports Describe Yourself: Quality Oriented Bottom Line: recommended Does not block pores. I can't stand greasy, smelly sunblock, but this has no fragrance and goes on just like moisturizer! It is a bit thick, so can't be applied quickly. I love it so much, I use it on my hands and arms as well.

no match for my super oily skin by anonymous in ny ny on 6/22/08 Bottom Line: not recommended after an hour or so, my face starts looking greasy. not really good if you have super oily skin and since it's a bit difficult to apply on, it does leave some white residue-looking mark.

I've been using sunscreen ... by Anonymous in Undisclosed on 6/18/08 I've been using sunscreen daily for over thirty years now, and I have tried everything. This product is the very best ever, and beats hands down all other sunscreens, regardless of price. I have used it for years now, about a tube a month. Use this now, and save yourself expensive skin treatments and skin cancer in the future. The 55 is great for everyday wear in the summer. Use the 70 for sun intensive days -- it is not as transparent as the 55. I really appreciate Neutrogena for coming up with this one.

This sunscreen is ... by Lola in Undisclosed on 6/15/08 This sunscreen is absolute PERFECTION! Most sunblocks are too oily and greasy and cause my t-zone skin to break out easily, not the case here! This stuff is LIGHT, smooth, and has a bonus pleasant scent. I can put it all over my acne prone areas and it not only leaves no residue, it leaves my skin up to 5x softer and touchable then before.

I've used other Neutrogena sunblocks before and liked them but this is HORRIBLE if you have sensitive skin. Trusting the Neutrogena brand, I packed the SPF 55 for my honeymoon to Costa Rica. I broke out in horrible red hives all over my face. It progressed into big red blotches, then my face became really leathery, and then flaked. On my body however, I had little bumps everywhere and looked like I had constant goosebumps. I ended up wearing a hat the whole time and barely took any pictures on my honeymoon. It took about 2 weeks to go away.

This sunscreen sure ... by Anonymous in Undisclosed on 6/10/08 This sunscreen sure protects, but it was difficult to rub in and left white chalky marks on me (very fair skin) and on my boyfriend (who has olive skin). I will likely switch back to the 30 SPF for future purchases.

I read many reviews and almost turned away from this product. However, I decided to give it a shot anyway because I love Neutrogena. I wear their make-up line on my face and have happily added this. It is not greasy which is important. I have a face so greasy you could oil a pan. It also has a wonderful smell. It does not turn white. I think if people were having that problem, they did not shake the bottle well. Overall a wonderful product. I will use this for a long time.

I have purchased new tubes, but its just not as good as it was. It does protect from the sun, I'll give it that.

It is so dry you can apply makeup over it and I have never had it cake or get chalky. I can't stand things that are greasy or have a fragrance, so I can wear this all the time. I have had basal cell skin cancer surgery on my nose, so I don't leave home without it.

This sun block is not ... by Anonymous in Undisclosed on 5/6/08 This sun block is not greasy at all like other sunblock, but it seems to dry out my skin. Its fine if I use it once in awhile for a day at the beach, but not for everyday use especially on my face. I used it for a week on my face and it irritated my skin. It made my face red and dry. I had patches of dry flakes all over my face and that combine with the redness due to irritation was not a pretty sight.

Like others have noted, I got a rash and a burning sensation the day after I used it and it takes the better part of 2 weeks to go away. This happened twice, so I know it was from this product. Otherwise I really liked it.

This is the best facial ... by Jenny Y in Bothell, WA on 11/30/07 This is the best facial sunscreen I've ever used! I have oily skin and this product is so light and sheer I forget that I have it on. The silica in this does such a great job keeping my face from getting greasy (even in the middle of summer) that I use this product sometimes as a mattifying product, even when I don't plan to be out in the sun. It is thicker and hard to spread over large area so I don't recommend this for your body.

It burns when first ... by Anonymous in Undisclosed on 10/7/07 It burns when first applied. It is non greasy BUT cakey, turns into a white mask as if you just died, and my skin is pale in general. If it runs in your eyes, you will have to wipe it off or your eyes will be teary the whole day. In terms of protection probably it's OK although the UVA rating is missing, 'broad spectrum' is not a rating.
