Directions

Use only under a doctor's supervision.

To Prepare 1 Serving of EleCare (to prepare 1 liter and other caloric dilutions, see back of label.)

Mix Properly.  Your child's health depends on carefully following these directions.  Ask the doctor if you need to boil (sterilize) water and mixing utensils.

  • For infants (standard dilution of 20 Cal/fl oz): Pour warm water into bottle.  Add 1 packet, level scoop of Powder (9.4 g) for each 2 fl oz of water.  Use enclosed scoop.
  • For children over 1 year(standard dilution of 30 Cal/fl oz): Pour warm water into container.  Add 4 packed, level scoops of Powder for each 5 fl oz of water.  Use enclosed scoop.
  • Cap bottle or container; shake for 15-20 seconds.  Any remaining particles will dissolve in 5 to 10 minutes.
  • After feeding, throw away any formula remaining in bottle or container.

When mixed as directed, the contents of this can (400g) will make approximately 95 fl oz of formula at 20 Cal/fl oz or approximately 64 fl oz of formula at 30 Cal/fl oz.

Storage:  Cover mixed EleCare not used immediately and store in refrigerator.  Shake very well before serving again.  Use within 24 hours.  Cover opened can and store in a cool, dry place.  Use within 1 month after opening.  Store unopened cans at room temperature, avoid extreme temperatures.

Pros: Easy on baby's belly
Cons: Can edge sharpcuts, Doesn't come in liquid
Best Uses: Infants, Preemies
Describe Yourself: Parent of Multiples (Twins etc, Parent of Two or More Children
Bottom Line: recommended
Premie twins with gastro issues went through several formulas with no improvement. After seeing a Gastroenterology specialist she put them on EleCare and both are doing well on this formula! Best thing in addition to helping my babies, is that it doesn't smell badly (like the last hypoallergenic formula we tried). Downfall, it doesn't come in a liquid/ready to serve option.

Pros: Keeps baby healthy
Cons: Expensive
Best Uses: Infants
Describe Yourself: Parent of Two or More Children
Bottom Line: recommended
After having a difficult time with finding a formula for my baby and him being very sick from other options this was a great formula to make sure he is getting the nutrition that he needs. The downfall is that insurances think this is easy to purchase and it just like any other formula. Therefore they do not cover this and it is very expensive to buy.
