Indications

Fast relief of urinary pain, burning, urgency and frequency associated with urinary tract infections.

Directions

Adults: Take 2 tablets 3 times daily with or after meals as needed.  Take with a full glass of water. Children under 12: Do not use without consulting a doctor. Do not use for more than 2 days (12 tablets) without consulting a doctor.

Individuals with any kidney problems should not use this preparation unless directed by a physician. If symptoms persist, consult your physician. Do not use for more than 2 days without consulting a physician.

Warnings

Ask a doctor before use if you have: kidney disease allergies to foods, preservatives or dyes had a hypersensitive reaction to Phenazopyridine When using this product: stomach upset may occur, taking this product with or after meals may reduce stomach upset. your urine will become reddish-orange in color.  This is not harmful, but care should be taken to avoid staining clothing or other items. Stop use and ask a doctor if: your symptoms last for more than 2 days you suspect you are having an adverse reaction to the medication If pregnant or breast feeding, ask a health professional before use. Keep out of reach of children.  In case of an overdose, get medical help or contact a Poison Control Center right away. This product can interfere with laboratory tests including urine, glucose (sugar), and ketones tests.  This product may stain soft contact lenses.  Store at room temperature (56°- 86°F) in a dry place and protect from light.  Tamper evident:  tablets sealed in cellophane.  Do note use if cellophane is opened or damaged.

This is the best UTI pain ... by Anonymous in Undisclosed on 5/20/08 This is the best UTI pain reliever there is! I have used it several times when I had to wait for antibiotics from the doctor, and also waiting for the antibiotics to take effect. It is the only thing that keeps me from spending the entire day running to the bathroom.

It does what it says. ... by Anonymous in Undisclosed on 12/3/07 It does what it says. Sometimes I swear it doesn't work at all, but probably because I ate something before hand and took awhile to digest. Remember though, to eat something after you take AZO. I always feel really nauseous and sick if I take on an empty stomach and don't eat anything right away.

This is the best thing ... by Laura in Undisclosed on 9/5/07 This is the best thing since sliced bread. I'm very prone to UTIs. I don't get a mild case. I get the double me over, pee straight blood every 30 seconds, burns like fire kind. Of course this usually happens on the weekend when my doctor is closed, and I have to pay an arm and a leg for a walk in clinic, because I CANNOT tough it out until Monday. The discovery of Azo has made it possible for me to wait until the work week when I can see my own doctor. It really does alleviate the pain. And for me, that's sayin' a whole lot!

I deciced to buy this because the pain, pressure and burning would not go away until I bought this product which helped alot. It does make your urine bright orange and will stain your toilet. I highly recommend buying this product but suggest you see your doctor if you do suspect a UTI cause you may need something prescribed to kill the bacteria.

I plan on taking them until the antibiotics kick in and start to alleviate the problem. I can sympathize with the females who get this several times, it is very uncomfortable. LOVE IT! I woke up one ... by Anonymous in Undisclosed on 9/9/06 LOVE IT! I woke up one morning and saw/felt the symptoms for a UTI. I took AZO, and within an hour I was no longer seeing symptoms. I took it because I would not be able to see the doctor until the next day. You definitely need to get your UTI checked out by a doctor to avoid any kidney infection that your UTI could turn into, but this is a great medication to take until you are able to see your physician.

I don't get a lot of urinary infections, but when I do, it's the first thing that I buy. Helps within an hour or two. I recommend this to everyone.

This product provides ... by Anonymous in Undisclosed on 10/2/05 This product provides excellent relief of symptoms, be aware though that it does not kill bacteria and you must see a physician for antibiotic therapy. This product makes the wait for antibiotics to kick in so much more tolerable, that it is invaluable and I always keep some around. I do have some slight problems with nausea with this product, but it is better than the burning and frequency I would have otherwise.

A-MAZING. I have a ... by kim in Undisclosed on 7/22/05 A-MAZING. I have a condition called "honeymoon cystitis" which is a UTI that is exactly what it sounds like. Every once in a while, after sexual contact, something external gets swollen/irritated/torn and results in a massive UTI. Well, I was about to die from the pain yesterday and went to buy this and MAN does it work! No peeing every 30 seconds, no burning pain, no stomachache...it began to work after less than an hour, and it's a lifesaver! Thank GOD for AZO. .

This is the best stuff ... by Anonymous in Undisclosed on 2/24/05 This is the best stuff for the pain and burning of a bladder infection and as other people have said, it makes the wait to get the urine culture results and the prescription for antibiotics bearable! Phenazopyridine is a urinary tract anesthetic and used to be available only with a prescription. Thank goodness it's available over the counter now. I keep some on hand because I never know when I or a family member is going to have UTI symptoms.

After a kidney infection ... by Anonymous in Undisclosed on 10/23/04 After a kidney infection forty years ago, I kept having symptoms of it and lower back pain. As no infection showed up in doctors' tests, they assumed that I was just a hypochrondriac. Well, they did tell me that it was arthritis in my back and feet. After trying different products for several years, I tried Azo-- and it worked! Praise the Lord! I don't need it often but am very thankful to have something that gets rid of that pain!

Azo Standard is a pretty ... by Anonymous in Undisclosed on 7/30/04 Azo Standard is a pretty good over the counter pain reliever for a UTI I guess. I have never tried any other over the counter UTI pain reliever so I gave this 3 stars. I still had quite a bit of discomfort after urinating, but who's to say it works miracles? It could've been worse had I not taken them. Now if they had Pyridium as an over the counter medication that would be heaven sent!

It will only take one bad ... by Bobbie in Undisclosed on 2/29/04 It will only take one bad UTI to believe in this product, heart and soul. Within 20 minutes the pain and pressure are gone, with no side affects. This will not cure the problem, but makes the wait for antibiotics easier to deal with.
