It is of a lower strength; therefore it works a little bit slower than a higher strength benzoyl peroxide would. However, it is still a good acne product nonetheless.

I am in my late 20's and this product doesn't work well if applied on-the-spot. I learned that applying it to my entire face as part of my routine works tremendously better. It doesn't magically clear ALL pimples but I don't get those horrific breakouts everywhere anymore. First time using this made my face a bit red but after about 3-4 times, my face got used to it and I'm still using it now. I cannot live w/o it.

I have sensitive skin so I bought this thinking 2.5% benzoyl peroxide should be gentler on my skin than the typical 10% (which wasn't a problem at all for me in the past) but when I used this product at night, the next day I woke up with a red blotch where I applied the treatment. I thought it was a fluke so I tried it a few more nights and each time the same thing happened. It took a full day for the blotches to disappear and because of the red blotch, I wasn't able to use it long enough to know whether or not it was effective. The blotches were bright red too (although not itchy) and difficult to cover with make up. I normally love Neutrogena products too so needless to say I was very disappointed!

i have been using this product as part of my acne regime for about a year now. i had a weird mid-twenties break out phase. twice a day, i wash my face with a mild cleanser for sensitive skin, then put a thin layer of on-the-spot on my entire face. i follow with a gentle moisturizer for sensitive skin. after about a month, my skin was very clear. i still get an occasional small pimple, but NOTHING like what i was experiencing. i am so thankful i found a regime that works for me. try this product!!

I use this because I believed the "On-the-spot" treatment. However, after reading and learning a lot about acne, I know now that acne does not just appear overnight, but forms on the face weeks in advance. A pimple that pops up has been growing under the skin for awhile. Gross, but true. Remedies for acne should be used all the time as prevention. I do not use this prodcut when I go out, because it is not clear. It leaves a white paste on top of my acne and makes me ashamed to have it. It dries and is not very comfortable. I tolerate the smell, but would also appreciate no smell at all. Its effectiveness is not too reliable so I do not feel like using it all the time. It does not sting though so that is a plus. I know to be careful if I choose to use salicylic acid at the same time because it can overdry and I don't like slathering on lotion on top of that already. I would hesitate before going out and buying this again.

I had cystic acne until trying this along with Neutrogena's salicylic acid face washes. I am completely cleared now, after about a month of using both, nothing has worked like this for me before. I love this cream because of the low levels of BP - it doesn't dry my face out like previous BP treatments I've tried. Works great using this at night and washing with salicylic acid in the morning. Definitely recommend giving it a go - I've found my products and I'm sticking with them.

It did clear my pimples fairly well over night, but I woke up with what I can only describe as hives on my face. I recommend this only if you've got skin that's NOT sensitive. Now, I'm too scared to try BP of any brand.

I am not a consistent user, due to my own forgetfullness, however when I do have big ugly pimples, etc. forming, even one application before I go to bed reduces the redness, irritation and size. I probably use it once or twice a week and my skin has looked much better!

Works pretty well - but not as effective as some other BP products. Really, I would only suggest for those who get occasional or smaller acne bumps. Plus I would use it in conjuction with other products, or I think it would be useless.
